Abstract: Paracoccidioidomycosis is an important Latin American endemy. The lung is the portal of entrance of the infection and the lesions are confined to this organ in, at least, 30 per cent of the progressive cases. Twelve case histories of patients with the progressive pulmonary form are presented in order to illustrate the repetitious clinical manifestations but the large variety of radiological presentations. The mycologic diagnosis is also emphasized.

Abstract: A case of pulmonary paracoccidioidomycosis in a nine year old girl is reported. This is the first proven case of exclusive pulmonary paracoccidioidal lesions observed in a child. A review of the mycosis among children 0 to 10 years old is also presented.

Abstract: The analysis of the action of the atmospheric systems in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul made possible the individuation of the various types of weather associated to them, resulting from various behavioural patterns. The patterns were obtained through the tecnique of rhythmic analysis. The identified patterns, numbering fifteen, made the establishment of three big families of types of weather possible as a results of the plotted responses from atmospheric elements due either to the advance and dominance of the extra-tropical systems in the region, or to the inter-tropical systems, or their un-stabilizing mechanisms over the weather.

Abstract: O trabalho concerne a um afloramento de rochas fossiliferas silicificadas da regiao de Sao Sepe, centro-oeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Realizou-se um mapeamento geologico de uma area de 165 km 2 , objetivando visualizar as inter-relacoes entre as formacoes gonduânicas presentes na regiao. Discute-se a posicao estratigrafica das rochas fossiliferas em funcao de seus atributos temporais e espaciais. Sao feitas consideracoes sobre a idade dos sedimentos, com base nos restos fosseis associados (impressoes de vegetais, palinomorfos e lamelibrânquios) sobre os processos responsaveis pela silicificacao das rochas e a respeito do ambiente de sedimentacao.
