TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the problems of classroom management of the secondary school teachers in Punjab and concluded that teachers are decision-makers as they manage the daily routines of their classrooms.
Abstract: There are so many characteristics and traits of personality and all the characteristics, qualities and competencies need training, grooming, improvement and development. The best classroom environment is one that results in efficient learning. Discipline involves employing guidance and teaching techniques to encourage students to become self-directive and therefore to create an atmosphere conducive to learning. Teachers are decision-makers as they manage the daily routines of their classrooms. Some teachers squeeze out every minute of learning possible. They are highly organized and well prepared, and they constantly think and plan ahead. This doesn’t mean that they create a cold classroom atmosphere where students feel unwelcome. Rather, they are warm and enthusiastic teachers who are simply well organized and equally well versed in teaching. The major objective of this study was as to investigate the problems of classroom management of the secondary school teachers in Punjab. The population of the study consisted of the heads of the teacher training institutions, teacher educators, heads of secondary schools, secondary school teachers, and students. The sample included randomly selected ten heads of teacher training institutions, 50 teacher trainers, 800 hundred heads of secondary schools, 4,000 secondary school teachers and 4,000 students. Four questionnaires (one each for heads, teacher trainers, teachers and students) were developed for collection of data. Data were collected, analyzed and interpreted in the light of objective by using the Chi- Square. It was concluded from the study that the majority of respondents agreed that secondary school teachers were aware of time management skills, kept the classroom environment conducive for learning, and improved the learning skills of the students by using different behavior modification techniques. The majority of respondents agreed that secondary school teachers were dealing with the students in a non-psychological way; it was the common areas in which secondary school teachers had weak competencies. For improving the classroom management skills, in-service short courses should be planned and attendance of secondary school teachers in such courses should be made obligatory. For maintaining the discipline in the class, teacher should be trained in such a way that they properly understand each and every method with its proper use in particular situations. Short courses, seminars and symposia should be organized on a regular basis to refresh the knowledge of working secondary teachers. Teachers should understand human, as well as educational, psychology and apply it in their teaching process in the classroom.

TL;DR: A simple and sensitive spectrophotomteric method has been developed for the determination of Sertraline in pharmaceutical and blood sample, depend upon the reaction between the sertralines and chloranilic acid in slightly alkaline medium, giving a purple colour complex.
Abstract: A simple and sensitive spectrophotomteric method has been developed for the determination of Sertraline in pharmaceutical and blood sample. The current method is depend upon the reaction between the sertraline and chloranilic acid in slightly alkaline medium, giving a purple colour complex having maximum absorbance at 527.5 nm. The reaction is selective for sertraline with 0.01mg/mL.The colour reaction obeys Beer’s law from 0.1mg to 5mg/mL of sertraline and relative standard deviation is 0.19%. The quantitative estimation of sertraline in blood sample is also studied. Key Words: Spectrophotometric, Sertraline, chloranilic acid, Beer’s law, quantitative estimation . e-mail: asif_hanif101@yahoo.com INTRODUCTION Sertraline Hydrochloride is a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) and is a tricyclic compound with antidepressant activity 1 . The antidepressant effect of sertraline is presumed to be linked to its ability to inhibit the neuronal reuptake of serotonin 2 . It has only very weak effects on norepinephrine and dopamine neuronal reuptake. At clinical doses, sertraline blocks the uptake of serotonin into human platelets

TL;DR: An algorithm for non-overlapping camera network localization using trajectory estimation and finds the final configuration of the network by adjusting the remaining cameras with respect to this reference is presented.
Abstract: We present an algorithm for non-overlapping camera network localization using trajectory estimation. The localization refers to the extrinsic calibration of a network i.e., the recovery of relative position and orientation of each camera in the network on a common ground plane coordinate system. To this end, Kalman filtering is initially used to model the observed trajectories in each camera's field of view. This information is then used to estimate the missing trajectory information in the unobserved regions by integrating the results of forward and backward linear regression estimation from adjacent cameras. These estimated trajectories are then filtered and used to recover the relative position and orientation of the cameras by analyzing the estimated and observed exit and entry points of an object in each camera's field of view. We fix one camera as a reference and find the final configuration of the network by adjusting the remaining cameras with respect to this reference. We evaluate performance of the algorithm on both simulated and real data and compare the results with state-of-the-art approaches.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the extent of equal opportunities in higher education in Punjab and made some workable recommendations for the improvement of higher education, bringing equity and access to higher education.
Abstract: Higher education is central to the development of a country. Without it, countries are bound to lag behind others in the race for development. Without human resources development and institution building, a nation cannot dream of progress and prosperity. The investment in higher education does not go unrecorded and its neglect does not get ignored. The policies of the Government are placing greater stress on upgrading the skills of the vast resources of human capital in the country through measures promoting access to education, with a focus on enhancing the knowledge distribution power of the economy through collaborative network and the diffusion of technology, and providing the enabling conditions for change in the science system to maximize the benefits of technology. The objective of the study was to investigate the extent of equal opportunities in higher education in Punjab. The study was descriptive and survey type. The study was delimited to the higher education institutions of Punjab. The population included 18 public universities in Punjab. A random sampling technique was applied for selection of sample. Ten public sector universities were randomly selected for the above population. Ten teachers (5 male and 5 female) and 20 students (10 male and 10 female) were further selected from the sample universities. Data were collected through questionnaires developed with the help of experts. Data collected were tabulated, analyzed using the Likert’s five-point scale and chi-square. After drawing the conclusions, some workable recommendations were made for the improvement of higher education, bringing equity and access in higher education. The following conclusions were drawn from responses. (1) The concept of gender bias is prevailing in the developing countries of the world. (2) The study showed that there is indifferent attitude of teachers towards male and female students.(3) It was also found that the behaviour of the teachers was indifferent to rural and urban students. It creates region differences to breed. (4) The results showed that girls are not preferred to boys in selection of technical or scientific subjects. (5) The majority of the respondents pointed out those admission criteria effects the students with average grade to get enrolled in higher education. (6) Age restrictions keep the students with genuine problems away from higher education. The following recommendations were made on the basis of conclusions: (1)The authorities must assure that fair access to higher education is provided without gender bias.(2) There should be establishment of public universities in rural areas to promote equity region wise. (3)There should be equal opportunities for girls in selection of the subjects of their own choice. (4) Teachers should be trained in a way that student belonging to any group or sex have equal behaviour of teachers.(5) Admission criteria must have some relaxation for deprived students.(6) There should be an alternate way in the selection of medium of instruction.
