TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the method of small parameter to discuss the problems of stress concentration in the neighborhood of a concentrated load or a circular hole on a shallowshell of elliptic paraboloid with taken as the small parameter, where k, andky are the curvatures of the shell in the directions of x and y.
Abstract: In this paper, the method of small parameter is used to discuss the problems of stress concentration in the neighborhood of a concentrated load or a circular hole on a shallowshell of elliptic paraboloid with taken as the small parameter, where k, andky are the curvatures of the shell in the directions of x and y. The preliminary solution obtained is identical to the solution for a shallow spherical shell with curvature and the n-th correction can also be given out by solving the equation ofspherical shell. In this paper, the n-th correction is obtained by the method of Hankel transform, and some numerical results are given. For shallow shells in engineering practice ( ), this method gives rapid converging result, and even the first correction proves to be satisfactory.

TL;DR: An extension of Liapounoff's stability theorems to continuum mechanics has been attempted in this article, where the stability problem of laminar fluid flows between two parallel plates is treated.
Abstract: An extension of some Liapounoff's stability theorems to continuum mechanics has been attempted. In Section 1 of the paper, the stability theorems of laminar fluid flows between two parallel plates are discussed; and in Section 2, as an example, the stability problem of a simply supported plate is treated by the proposed methods.
