Critical points of the product of powers of linear functions and families of bases of singular vectors

Abstract: The quasiclassical asymptotics of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation with values in the tensor product of sl(2)- representations are considered. The first term of asymptotics is an eigenvector of a system of commuting operators. We show that the norm of this vector with respect to the Shapovalov form is equal to the determinant of the matrix of second derivatives of a suitable function. This formula is an analog of the Gaudin and Korepin formulae for the norm of the Bethe vectors. We show that the eigenvectors form a basis under certain conditions.

Commuting difference operators with polynomial eigenfunctions

Abstract: We present explicit generators of an algebra of commuting difference operators with trigonometric coefficients. The operators are simultaneously diagonalized by recently discovered q-polynomials (viz. Koornwinder's multivariable generalization of the Askey-Wilson polynomials). From the viewpoint of physics the algebra can be interpreted as consisting of the quantum integrals of a novel difference-type integrable sytem. This system generalizes the Calogero-Moser systems associated with non-exceptional root systems.

Local height functions and the Mordell-Weil theorem for Drinfeld modules

Abstract: We prove an analogue for Drinfeld modules of the Mordell-Weil theorem on abelian varieties over number fields. Specifically, we show that if ~ is a Drinfeld A-module over a finite extension L of the fraction field of A, then L considered as an A-module via 0 is the direct sum of a free A-module of rank N. with a finite torsion module. The main tool is the canonical global height function defined by Denis. By developing canonical local height functions, we are also able to show that if q5 is defined over the ring of S-integers Os in L, then Os and LIOs considered as A-modules via 0 also are each isomorphic to the direct sum of a free A-module of rank N0 with a finite torsion module. If M is a nontrivial finite separable extension of L, then the quotient module M/L as well is isomorphic to the direct sum of a free A-module of rank N. with a finite torsion module. Bounds for the order of the Tate-Shafarevich group

Abstract: In this paper we show, over Q, with classical conjectures like Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer, the equivalence for modular elliptic curves between the following two conjectures: relating the order 1 ID of the Tate-Shafarevich group, the conductor N and the discriminant D of an elliptic curve. We also show for function fields that (1) stands because (2) has been proved earlier by one of us.

The real Seifert form and the spectral pairs of isolated hypersurface singularities

Abstract: The mixed-Hodge theoretical data of an isolated hypersurface singularity f are codified by the set of spectral pairs Spp( f ) E N[Q x N]. We prove that its projection in N[Q/2Z x N] is equivalent to the real Seifert form of f. In order to prove and illustrate this, we discuss and classify the sesqui-linear forms from the viewpoint of the Hodge theory. Abstract: Dans le premier chapitre, nous considerons des revetements galoisiens finis etales de couronnes rigides d'epaisseur nulle: nous demontrons que, quitte a etendre le corps de base, on peut prolonger un tel revetement en un revetement fini galoisien du disque ferme, ramifie en un nombre fini de points. La preuve utilise la cohomologie du groupe fondamental profini de la couronne. Dans le deuxieme chapitre, nous utilisons ces resultats pour relever un revetement fini galoisien de courbes sur un anneau de valuation discrete complet, de corps residuel le corps de definition des courbes, en introduisant des singularites lorsque le revetement de depart est sauvagement ramifie

Abstract: Pour un feuilletage riemannien singulier, on definit une notion d'integrabilite transverse. Dans le cas singulier cette notion correspond a l'existence de sections generalisees. Cette construction s'applique en particulier au cas des actions de groupes compacts permettant de generaliser les travaux anterieurs de l. Conlon, szenthe, palais-terng. D'autre part on aboutit a un theoreme de decomposition generalisant celui donne par r. Blumenthal et j. Hebda dans le cas regulier. On characteristic $p$ zeta functions

Abstract: We show that in contrast to the various known analogies, the orders of vanishing of the characteristic p zeta functions introduced by Goss sometimes follow interesting pattems involving base q-digits, providing a challenge to understand them in a general framework as in the classical case. We answer some questions raised by Goss about the connection of the zeta values and periods. We also generalize and simplify the proofs of some results.

$F$-crystals on schemes with constant log structure

Abstract: Let f : X ~ Z be a log smooth and proper morphism of log schemes in characteristic p such that the monoid MZ/O*Z is constant. We prove that if E is a locally free crystal on X with a (weak) Frobenius structure, then for every affine PD thickening T of Z, the crystalline cohomology Rr(X/T) 0 Q depends only on the monoid MT, and not on the map MT ~ OT. This result generalizes the theorem of Hyodo and Kato comparing De Rham and crystalline cohomologies in the context of semi-stable reduction, as well as Christol’s "transfer theorem" on p-adic differential equations with regular singularities.

On the sum of consecutive cubes being a perfect square

Abstract: In this paper estimates of linear forms in elliptic logarithms are applied to solve the problem of determining, for given n 2, all sets of n consecutive cubes adding up to a perfect square. Use is made of a lower bound of linear forms in elliptic logarithms recently obtained by Sinnou David. Complete sets of solutions are provided for all n between 2 and 50, and for n = 98.
