Abstract: The development of non - effectively neutral grounding of distribution network is introduced. The characteristics of steady state and transient signals of single phase fault in non - effectively grounding network are analyzed. The working principles, advantages and disadvantages of various faulty feeder identification methods for non - effectively grounding network are described. The field trial results of a newly developed faulty feeder identification method based on discrimination of direction of transient zero mode capacitive current are given. The new method has high sensitivity and reliability, and is a promising technique that could solve the outstanding faulty feeder identification problems for non - effectively grounding network, especially for arc suppression coil grounding network. There is still no method available that could reliably discriminate the faulty feeder with very high fault resistance. Further investigation is needed to solve this problem.

Abstract: The electric power network in China is facing with the situation of unprecedented devebpment. HVDC transmission is with the characteristics of bng distance, large capacity and flexible control etc. for power transmission, which will undertake the major task of power transmission in building and planning HVDC transmission projects for power transmission from west to east, mutual power supply for south and north, and play the important role in future Nation - wide power network interconnection. To do the best research, planning and construction for HVDC transmission is the important task for power network devebpment in the future in China.

Abstract: The characteristics of UHVDC power transmission technology are with long distance and large capacity of power transmission, flexible control and dispatching conveniently, which has the wide prospect of application in China. The paper introduced the topics of UHVDC power transmission in detail, such as selection of basic parameters, main wiring scheme option of converter station, main equipments option in converter station including converter transfomer, valve, wall bushing, as well as the problems of electromagnetic environment. Research analysis shows that engineering application of ±800 kV UHVDC power transmission does not have the technical problems that can not be solved. It is pointed out that the electromagnetic environment index of UHVDC power transmission can be controlled according to the limit value of ±500 kV HVDC power transmission.

Abstract: In recent years, wind power in China is experiencing rapid development. With the integration of large-scale wind power some problems come forth. Issues of power system operation and stability which are resulted from the integration of large-scale wind power are discussed in this paper, and the corresponding solutions are given. The main aspects discussed are wind power impact to power grid voltage, power system stability, as well as power system operation and dispatching. Again to these problems, corresponding solutions are presented, such as voltage control of wind farms, wind turbine's LVRT (Low Voltage Ride Through) capacity and wind power forecast and so on.
