TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the Beta CAPM in famous model under impacts of both macro internal and external variables during low inflation time 2015-2020 in the country and found that increase in inflation, together with decrease in Rf and lending rate will increase market risk.
Abstract: For sustainable growth, macro policy makers will need to look at risk management in banking industry and impacts of macro factors on market risk in order to adjust policies and build risk management culture in banking system. What we need to adjust in trade balance, risk free rate and other policies? This is one of reasons for us to conduct this study. This paper measures the Beta CAPM in famous model under impacts of both macro internal and external variables during low inflation time 2015-2020 in the country. The evidence is the fundamental role of risk management in commercial bank has been increasing with new perspectives in management, corporate governance and risk management models. We will estimate effects in risk measurement of one of big listed Vietnam commercial bank, Asia commercial bank (ACB) during the low inflation period 2015-2020 with semiannual data. Through using analysis, synthesis statistics methods, and dialectical materialism method, combined with econometric model with 9 macro variables, we figure out that CPI has a positive correlation with Beta CAPM of ACB, while Risk free rate (Rf) and lending rate have negative correlation with Beta CAPM of the bank. It implies that increase in inflation, together with decrease in Rf and lending rate will increase market risk. Then, one of its major findings is the suggestion of macro and risk management policies for bank and relevant government agencies. Our recommendation can be used for reference and expand researches in many other emerging markets.

TL;DR: The significant findings allude to the existence of a perception on the part of the entrepreneurs about the counterintelligence systems implemented in the SMEs they manage and the lack of strategies to shield SMEs from competitive intelligence services.
Abstract: The objective of this research was to analyze the processes of business counterintelligence as a strategy to shield the SMEs from competitive intelligence services. It was framed in the convergence of research approaches given in 2 phases: quantitative phase (Likert type questionnaire applied to 385 Colombian businessmen), qualitative phase (semi-structured interview to 4 police officers with more than 25 years of experience in police counter-intelligence) and the conclusions are formulated taking into account the convergence of approaches by dimension/category. The significant findings allude to the existence of a perception on the part of the entrepreneurs about the counterintelligence systems implemented in the SMEs they manage. However, experts on the subject agree on the lack of knowledge of risk factors regarding information vulnerability and the lack of strategies to shield SMEs from competitive intelligence services.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the phenomenon of social exclusion in car-sharing services based on the Church's conceptual framework, including economic, physical, geographic, spatial, fear-based, time-based and facility access barriers.
Abstract: Currently, increasingly car-sharing systems are implemented in the area of urban transport systems. This type of development brings many benefits to cities and operators providing services, but above all, following the principles of sustainable development, it should improve society's quality of life. With this in mind, it is particularly important to monitor users’ opinions on the services offered and take into account the problems and complaints reported by them. Monitoring opinions on services may contribute to the improvement of the quality of services, but most of all contribute to eliminating transport barriers related to the use of car-sharing services. This study aimed to identify transport barriers, accessibility issues, and transport social exclusion reported by users of car-sharing services. The purpose is to present the phenomenon of social exclusion in car-sharing services based on the Church’s conceptual framework. The article identifies seven main categories of social exclusion, including economic, physical, geographic, spatial, fear-based, time-based, and facility-access barriers related to the use of car-sharing services. Moreover, the article includes presentation of remedial measures limiting the phenomenon of transport, social exclusion and barriers, consistent with the principles of sustainable development. The article supports operators who want to create services better suited to the needs of the society. It is also a response to a research gap dedicated to transportation social exclusion and aspects of responsible business in the car-sharing industry. The work supports eliminating the phenomenon of social exclusion and the pursuit of creating socially and environmentally responsible car-sharing services.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors conducted a study focusing on the defined area of business in the SME segment and assessed the sectorial structure of SMEs and managerial determinants of their efficiency.
Abstract: In comparison to other EU countries, Slovakia is characterized by increased business activity and the highest representation of micro-enterprises in the business sector. In the years 2017/2018 -, up to 75% of companies in the SME segment conducted business activity in the field of industry, accommodation, trade, transport and construction. The collected data clearly indicates a growing trend in providing accommodation services, business and information services, business and brokerage services. The main objective of the study is to assess the sectorial structure of SMEs and managerial determinants of their efficiency. The research sample of the enterprises has shown that even these methods can better warn against bankruptcy by predicting whether business will or will not be sustainable. In comparison to EU-28, Slovakia has a significantly higher representation of industry and civil engineering in the sectoral structure of SMEs, while the service sector is under-represented. We conducted a research focusing on our defined area of business in the SME segment. The evaluation of efficiency is most often performed by ratios, which are based on current financial statements of companies. The disadvantage of these measurements is the focus on a certain quantified range of parameters that do not significantly affect the overall efficiency of the unit. Based on the DEA methodology, a selected segment of services in individual regions of Slovakia was analysed in details. The SME sector in individual regions of Slovakia is showing differences. This work presents the results of the clearly defined efficiency of business entities. The main part of this work is about the exact determination of factors that need to be changed in order the specified entity shows signs of efficient management.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined how the covid19 pandemic affects the share price of the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam and found that the impact of the three events on pharmaceutical stock prices was sign inconsistency.
Abstract: The outbreak of Covid-19 had a negative impact on socio-economic activities and stock markets of many countries around the world. However, it could affect the pharmaceutical industry in a different way. The purpose of this article is to examine how the covid19 pandemic affects the share price of the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam. Event study is the main methodology of this article. The three events selected for study include: (i) On January 23, 2020, the first two patients, Chinese nationality, were found infected with covid19;(ii) March 6, 2020: The 17th patient, an international student from the UK, started the wave of covid19 infection in the community in Vietnam;(iii) On March 30, 2020, Vietnam announced the nationwide outbreak of Covid-19 and implemented economic lockdown. The article found that the impact of the three events on pharmaceutical stock prices was sign inconsistency. Cumulative abnormal returns (CAR) is positive after the first and third event is declared but the CAR is negative after the second event is announced. Of the three events, the stock price response to the third was the slowest since CAR (0;7) started to be statistically significant while the other two events CAR (0;2) were statistically significant. The results from this study have added to further insights into the effects of disease on the response of pharmaceutical stock prices.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the ESG implementation practices and challenges of financial investors and banks operating in the Baltic countries Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and found that around 81% of the respondents already use ESG data when evaluating their investments, which can partly be explained by the regulatory drivers coming from the large share of private equity and venture funds managing local and international public funding.
Abstract: As the environmental, social and governance (ESG) adoption practices in large and developed economies are becoming more sophisticated, in the still developing economies the non-financial information disclosure practices are gradually evolving. This article aims to capture the ESG implementation practices and challenges of the financial investors and banks operating in the Baltic countries Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. By analyzing survey data of 37 financial market players, the results reveal that around 81% of the respondents already use ESG data when evaluating their investments, which can partly be explained by the regulatory drivers coming from the large share of private equity and venture funds managing local and international public funding. Moreover, a substantial average weight of 0.39 is found to be attributed to the sustainability factors in the investment evaluation process, which is rather high given the general perception of the ESG being a recent addition to the investment evaluation tools. While 51% of the respondents admitted that Covid-19 pandemic has made no changes in their ESG practices, there are other common challenges named by the investors e.g. lack of general and quantifiable ESG data from the side of the companies and struggles to find matching benchmarks for the large share of the small and midsized companies dominating the Baltic investment market. By addressing the obstacles highlighted by this research, the policy makers can explore the ways how to foster a wider adoption of ESG policies in the Baltic investment universe.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed a sample of 488 trade and service SMEs from the Northwest region in Mexico and found that EO has a strong effect on CSR and also on the Corporate Performance of SMEs.
Abstract: In the current business context, SMEs play a determining role for most regions. For this reason, more and more companies are adopting business strategies that lead them to maintain and increase their competitiveness. Two of these strategies are Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The purpose of the study is to observe the effects that the EO has on the CSR and on the Corporate Performance (CPERF). In addition, it seeks to determine if the CSR has significant effects on the Corporate Performance, and it has also been proposed to examine the mediating effect that the CSR has between the variable EO and Corporate Performance. The study analyzes a sample of 488 trade and service SMEs from the Northwest region in Mexico. The information was collected through a self-directed survey of the manager of each SME from May to September 2018. For the analysis of the data, the statistical technique PLS-SEM was used (partial least squares structural equation modeling). The results report that EO has a strong significant effect on CSR and also on the Corporate Performance of SMEs. Furthermore, the results have corroborated that CSR is a mediating variable between EO and Corporate Performance. The study contributes to the development of the theory of Dynamic Capabilities and of Stakeholders, corroborating that SMEs that adopt EO and CSR can lead them to the permanent adoption of sustainable entrepreneurship and the improvement of their corporate performance results. * This research has been funded with support from the Government of Mexico through the program of the Ministry of Public Education for the Strengthening of Educational Quality (PFCE 2019, 2020) https://www.dgespe.sep.gob.mx/pfce/reglas_operacion and with resources from the Technological Institute of Sonora (ITSON), during the year 2020. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify and analyze the social determinants of digital exclusion in an ageing society on the example of Poland, and present them as a multi-factor model: Market- trust - economy; Information policy; marketing - information-knowledge; Electronic democracy; Quality of life - health.
Abstract: The aim of the article is to identify and analyze the social determinants of digital exclusion in an ageing society on the example of Poland. The ageing of societies is nowadays a process recognized as a common trend in the world. Demographic changes cause serious socio-economic transformations. Contemporary social and economic systems are dependent on new technologies. Full participation in a technical environment is possible only for individuals with specific technical, social and psychological competences. The ability to use new information and communication technologies becomes a life necessity. In this context questions about the endogenous and exogenous determiants of digital exclusion in ageing societies, as well as about the impact of the digital technology on the emergence of new dimensions of digital exclusion have been raised. The methodological basis of the study are the theories of social and digital exclusion, as well as science and technology studies. The information bases for the study were the GUS (Central Statistical Office in Poland) reports, Eurostat data base and several statistic reports of non-government organizations in Poland. The analyzed period includes 2015-2019 years in cases where the development trends are discusses and 2019 to show the implications of new technologies impact on polish society. The forecasts reach up to 2060. The theoretical study is based on the analytical and semantic method. It has been shown that the analysis of the effects of digital exclusion in an ageing society should cover a much wider range of factors causing negative consequences. Exogenous factors, i.e. barriers preventing Internet use combined with lack of access to new technologies and lack of digital competence should be treated equally to endogenous factors. Motivation to develop and acquire new skills related to individual life strategies of the elderly plays an equally important role in the process of social self-exclusion. Authors also identifies the main dimensions of digital exclusion and presents them as a multi-factor model: Market - trust - economy; Information policy; Marketing - information - knowledge; Electronic democracy; Quality of life - health. The article provides a theoretical framework for the analysis of new dimensions of digital exclusion in ageing societies. It situates the assessment of new technologies in the social context of the progressing demographic changes implications. It points to new categories of social divides in technologically developed societies.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present risk management as a determinant of the implementation of sustainable development assumptions in an organization, and identify critical variables for improving risk management in the organization in the context of the sustainable development, and indicate the approach applied to risk management by organizations that manage many aspects in a systemic manner.
Abstract: Controlling risk and skilful planning of the continuity of the organization’s operation positively influences the value of the organization, its image and the ability to achieve the planned goals in the economic, social and environmental dimensions. This article presents risk management as a determinant of the implementation of sustainable development assumptions in an organization. The process consisting of: identification and analysis of stakeholders, setting partial goals and relations between the key perspectives of the organization’s functioning (legal, economic, social and environmental), risk identification, its measurement, regulation, monitoring and control contributes to the improvement of the organization’s safety. Thanks to the focus on the concept of sustainability, organizations manage risk in a systematic manner. One of the basic assumptions of the “triple bottom line” concept is the organization’s focus on economic goals, i.e. profit maximization. The second foundation is focusing on the human aspect in the organization and achieving goals under the assumption of corporate social responsibility. The third is to focus on environmental goals and eco-efficiency. The aim of the research was to identify critical variables for improving risk management in the organization in the context of the implementation of the concept of sustainable development, and to indicate the approach applied to risk management by organizations that manage many aspects in a systemic manner. The research was carried out in 150 organizations in Poland that have at least one certified management system, e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001. It was determined that such a number of surveyed organizations is representative, taking into account the fact that the ISO 9001 certificate in Poland can be found in almost 15,000 organizations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the principles of the transition of companies operating in the textile and clothing industry from the linear to the circular economy and their potential for such a change and define the benefits of such a new business strategy for companies in Slovakia.
Abstract: Integration of the circular economy system and its elements into business activities present new business opportunities. Despite the fact that circular economy represents a global trend, most industrial branches are based on the structure of a linear model. A system of circular economy has been gradually gaining ground in the business activities of companies functioning in Slovakia in different industries, including the clothing and textile industry. Transformation to the circular economy will be a necessity resulting from the legislative changes, as well as the pressure of public opinion. Our article focuses on this issue mentioned above. The main goal of the article is to explain the principles of the transition of companies operating in the textile and clothing industry from the linear to the circular economy and their potential for such a change and define the benefits of such a new business strategy for companies in Slovakia. In order for companies to be willing to switch to a circular economy, it is necessary to address the potential of the market and know the opinion of companies in the transition to a circular economy. To determine the market potential, we used ex ante forecasting using Holt's linear exponential smoothing, which showed us the growing trend of revenues in the textile industry, which can be an important factor for companies. In order for the transition to the circular economy to be successful, it is important to know the opinion of companies on the limitations and problems associated with the circular economy. To assess the opinions of companies, we worked with cluster analysis using the centroid method. The cluster analysis pointed to an implementation problem in almost 70% of the companies surveyed. Despite that all companies from the first cluster regard the circular economy as a new business model. However, it will be necessary to create adequate conditions for these companies to make the transition to the circular business models easier or possible. This primarily concerns adequate legislation and business operators’ awareness of both positives and negatives connected with the transition to such a business model.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors assess the situation concerning psychological support to the public in the extreme conditions at the national level at the level of individual psychological support in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic related factors.
Abstract: Restrictions on personal freedom, work or business loss, increasing financial tensions, limited communication with close people, friction between the people isolated within the household, uncertainty about the future, especially in the context of conflicting information coming from authorities, medical representatives and media reports, and other COVID-19 pandemic related factors are likely to substantially raise the spread of emotional distress and the risk of mental disorders and illnesses In the context of such unprecedentedly high risks for society to develop mental disorders, it is purposeful to research the aspects of the provision of psychological support to the public in extreme conditions Given the high number of stressors, an extremely high degree of uncertainty and a wide range of vulnerable social groups (entrepreneurs, pensions, family with children and etc ), the growing tensions in society necessitate the expansion of the scope of psychological support provided to the public The main purpose of this research is to assess the situation concerning psychological support to the public in the extreme conditions at the national level

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of economic differences at different territorial levels revealed that neither in the world as a whole nor in the EU regions' differences within countries are higher than differences between countries.
Abstract: This article aims to test empirically two popular hypotheses about territorial economic differences in the modern world. According to the first hypothesis, economic differences between countries in the modern world are not as large as regions’ differences within countries. According to the second hypothesis, the decline in the degree of economic differences between countries is due to the relatively faster economic development of capital regions. Investigation of the economic differences on various territorial levels realized applying the method of comparing the coefficient of variation of the income of the population. The source of the empirical data for this research is the Sub-national Human Development Index (SHDI) database created by the Netherlands Institute for Management Research of the Radboud University, which contains such indicator as Income index of SHDI in the inner regions of 161 countries in the world for the period from 2000 to 2017. A comparison of economic differences at different territorial levels revealed that in the 21st century, neither in the world as a whole nor in the EU regions’ differences within countries are higher than differences between countries. However, starting with 2015 the economic differences between inner regions of the EU countries began to outweigh the economic differences between countries themselves, and this is the specifics of the European Union. In the 21st century, both inter-country and intra-country regional economic differences in the EU countries are significantly lower than in the world as a whole. The economic importance of non-capital regions is gradually increasing in the EU, although for the time being the EU (and probably the world as a whole) still characterized by the economic growth, which is based mainly at the expense of capital regions.

TL;DR: The paper presents an empirical application and comparison of two different MCDM approaches SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) to assessing the sustainability of a real estate project.
Abstract: In the real estate sector, sustainability assessment tools enable the transition to buildings with lower impacts on the environment, the economy and the society. A variety of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods has been proposed to address this problem. There is, however, no consensus on the method to be used in each assessment case. The paper presents an empirical application and comparison of two different MCDM approaches SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) to assessing the sustainability of a real estate project. 18 sustainability criteria weighted by experts formed the basis of sustainability assessment of a real estate project. The results of the study revealed a significant difference between the ranks obtained by SAW and TOPSIS. Moreover, the results of the MCDM sensitivity analysis showed that the TOPSIS method is more sensitive to changes in baseline data than the SAW method.

TL;DR: In this article, an international quantitative examination (n = 160) was undertaken to understand the way of thinking of entrepreneurs, their internal features, and motivations of their decisions, and reveal characteristics of an entrepreneur's identity perception by individuals with and without entrepreneurial factors.
Abstract: The interdisciplinary research on the perception of entrepreneurs, managers, leaders, creators, and artists by individuals with and without entrepreneurial identity brings significant conclusions for understanding the way of thinking of entrepreneurs, their internal features, and motivations of their decisions. For this purpose, an international quantitative examination (n = 160) was undertaken. The research displayed that individuals with and without entrepreneurial identity perceive entrepreneurs, managers, leaders, creators, and artists statistically similar (the hypotheses were confirmed using the chi-square test of independence devoted to small samples without a normal distribution at p < 0.001). The negative verification of the hypotheses was astonishment and should be perceived as a novelty in the investigated area. The novelty can be perceived as an entrepreneurial potential existing in each individual (similar perception of the creative identities) that requires a specific spark and a fuel. The supplementary qualitative analysis of the variances among the 50 features constituting the investigated identities revealed that individuals with and without entrepreneurial identity see particular features of the investigated identities somewhat differently. Analysis of these differences was made, and the most important, the least important, and the most equally perceived were described and illustrated in detail. The results were discussed with the literature on the subject, confirming most other researchers’ theses and revealing some contradictions. The conclusions reveal characteristics of an entrepreneur’s identity perception by individuals with and without entrepreneurial factors and the meaning of all investigated identities in an entrepreneur’s identity. The research outcomes may be used to understand the qualities of entrepreneurial identity and the perception of investigated identities by individuals, groups (with particular underlining of business organizations), and societies dominated by persons with and without entrepreneurial factors. The applicability of the findings is broad, mainly due to the crucial role of entrepreneurship in today’s world as potential in each individual. Particular triggers should be catalyzed instead of looking for entrepreneurial individuals. The education process of entrepreneurs should focus on revealing entrepreneurial potential underlining the role of inspiration, and discovering the motifs of entrepreneurial activity.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors attempted to verify to what extent applications supporting personal finance management are beneficial and popular in Poland via a CAWI online survey, and they found that users tend to use non-banking applications more often than financial managers offered by banks.
Abstract: The aim of this article is to determine if and to what extent sociodemographic factors are related to how home budget management applications are evaluated. The authors attempted to verify to what extent applications supporting personal finance management are beneficial and popular in Poland via a CAWI online survey. The architecture of the research covered the following areas: the name of the application used, its method of use, the level of complexity of the software installation process, evaluation of the application's transparency, intuitiveness, functionality, if it meets financial needs, the technical and substantive faults of the application, degree of satisfaction with the application as well as recommendations for further development, the advantages and disadvantages of the application, the use of PFM during the SARS-CoV-2 era. The study showed that users tend to use non-banking applications more often than financial managers offered by banks. A PFM benefit analysis shows that the applications are highly transparent, structured, intuitive and that the respondents have positive approach towards using them. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has given grounds to finding gaps in remote customer service, such as better adaptation to the needs of current settlements and payments, the incapability to scan documents, and the lack of advice and ongoing contact with a consultant.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a measure of the scale and potential of the digital economy, which consists of individual indicators related to tree areas (e.g., economy, labour and skills).
Abstract: Technological progress is synonymous with current and past changes. In the past these changes led to increased efficiency of production. Driving forces behind today’s technological progress are digital technologies. Emergence of digital businesses significantly contributes to a new type of economy, which acquires the adjective digital. Building on the experience gained from the technological advances of past centuries, digital technologies, which make the digital economy by the mass use of them, are and will be an important factor influencing economic growth. Therefore, the aim of this article is to propose the measure of the scale and potential of digital economy. Measurements are realized in the form of composite indicator designed for the policymakers that deal with the creation of strategies for further growth and the direction of national economies. This composite indicator consists of individual indicators related to tree areas – economy, labour and skills, that can be used to determine the scale and the potential of the digital economy. The scale of the digital economy varies across the examined countries. An interesting finding is the fact that the scale of the digital economy is not conditioned by the geographical or economic scale of the state.

Abstract: This paper aims to develop approaches to accounting for recreational assets in the input-output model based on the analysis of the dynamics of their structure, as well as the structure of intermediate consumption of recreational services, on the example of intersectoral balance of Ukraine during 2012-2018. Based on forecasting the dynamics of indicators such as gross value added, consumption of fixed capital, net operated surplus, etc., optimistic and pessimistic scenarios for the development of recreation (arts, sports, entertainment and leisure) in Ukraine are identified, taking into account the factors of natural asset and the coronavirus pandemic. In particular, the net export indicator is expected to increase due to the restriction of international tourist arrivals and the formation of the domestic market of recreational services on the basis of inclusive sustainable development. Herewith, recreational and tourist enterprises have the following guidelines: security, quality, comfort, effectiveness of asset use. The expediency of state support is seen in the redistribution of the share of accounted natural assets between agriculture, forestry, fisheries and recreation, as well as in changing the structure of assets and intermediate consumption by reducing the share of public administration and increasing the share of other sectors, especially healthcare. The proposed organizational and economic measures complement the Strategy for the development of tourism and resorts for the period up to 2026 in Ukraine.

Abstract: The article summarizes the factors that affect the company's positive financial results in the changing business environment in the digital age. Upon the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the literature, 33 dominant financial and nonfinancial factors were selected, which the authors emphasized as important for the development of a sustainable, profitable business. To assess the practical impact of the selected factors on the company's profit generation, the data were grouped and interpreted through the prism of the Universal Business Model (BM), applying it either to BM as a whole or to its dimensions - the value proposition dimension, the value creation dimension and the value capture dimension. At the end of the article, empirical examples were considered, specifically, the digital transformation of the business model of two companies under the influence of modern supporting drivers. Both examples indicate that a successful BM transformation can only be achieved by transforming all related components of the BM dimension into their interaction. By collecting and accumulating this information, a profit management model can be developed to support companies in a rapidly changing environment, especially in the small and medium business sector.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the impact of macroeconomic conditions on the sustainable development of transport enterprises in Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) in the period from 2008 to 2018.
Abstract: The issue of sustainable development is critical in globalization, the rapid growth of the industry, technological progress, and climate change. Sustainable development is the realization of economic, social, and environmental goals. It requires all actors of socio-economic life, including enterprises, organizations, institutions, and countries. Sustainable development of an enterprise means improving the financial and property situation while taking care of employees and local communities' health and development and taking action to protect the natural environment. This paper aims to assess the impact of macroeconomic conditions on the sustainable development of transport enterprises in Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) in the period from 2008 to 2018. The selection of transport enterprises for the research sample is related to their high impact on economies in the analyzed countries, their significant negative impact on the natural environment. Moreover, transport enterprises play a vital role in the development of other economic sectors. The authors discuss the fundamental theoretical issues related to enterprises' sustainable development and the research result conducted in CEECs. The study results indicate a statistically significant relationship between the indicator of sustainable development and the hand of the macroeconomic condition in all analyzed countries. The highest correlation was observed in Romania, Hungary, and Slovenia, while the lowest in Croatia. The story of socio-economic development in surveyed countries plays a fundamental role in achieving sustainable development of transport enterprises.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the linkage between corporate governance and the performance of non-financial firms listed on Muscat Securities Market over the period 2007-2017 and investigated whether financial leverage acts as a mediating factor.
Abstract: Last two decades, corporate accounting scandals have represented a serious challenge to economic sustainability. To protect the shareholders right against abusive managerial conduct, the concepts of corporate governance structures and provisions have widely attracted the attention of practitioners and researchers. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the linkage between corporate governance and the performance of non-financial firms listed on Muscat Securities Market over the period 2007-2017. Additionally, whether financial leverage acts as a mediating factor is investigated. A panel fixed effect regression is conducted to test if there is a relationship between corporate governance, capital structure and firm performance. Overall results show that women on board, audit committee size, leverage and firm size are positively related to firm performance. The study presents a strong understanding to senior management to be focused more on corporate governance codes and regulations, as well as to both internal and external auditors to strictly monitor the application of corporate governance regulations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the influence of selected factors on the increase of women employed in ICT and found out whether the mentioned Factors are statistically significant and what is their influence on the number of employed women in the ICT sector so that it is possible to positively influence their amount as much as possible.
Abstract: Digital transformation offers a great opportunity for the growth of economies and societies across countries around the world. This digital transformation is leading to very rapid growth in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector. ICT currently faces two main challenges. The first problem is the lack of ICT professionals and the second significant problem is the under-representation of women among them. Our article deals with the issue of the influence of selected factors on the increase of women employed in ICT. In our survey, we focused on the influence of the following factors: The amount of GDP resulting from the ICT sector, the average annual wage, the gender gap, the number of employed women, and the number of women who work in ICT and are educated in ICT. We tested these variables on data from the V4 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) for the period 2008-2018. Our aim was to find out whether the mentioned Factors are statistically significant and what is their influence on the number of employed women in the ICT sector so that it is possible to positively influence their amount as much as possible.
