TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on the link between mental models and leadership effectiveness and investigate how mental models affect organizational conversations through mechanisms such as theories in use and espoused theories, emphasizing the need to move from the old paradigm and make a shift toward new mental models because they offer more valid and useful ways to effectively deal with complex challenges in an increasingly competitive business environment.
Abstract: This paper focuses on the link between mental models and leadership effectiveness. Reporting from different examples of mental models representing barriers for change, strategic implementation and organizational learning, the paper emphasizes the fact that mental models affect both leadership effectiveness and overall organizational development. Starting from the question what are mental models and why they represent a relevant management issue, the study focuses on the role and meaning of mental models in terms of their influence on organizational outcomes rather than the actions or decisions being made. Within descriptive mode of analysis, the study investigates how mental models affect organizational conversations through mechanisms such as theories in use and espoused theories. The goal of the paper is to demonstrate the need to move from the old paradigm and make a shift toward new mental models because they offer more valid and useful ways to effectively deal with the complex challenges in an increasingly competitive business environment.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors identified 41 barriers of BIM adoption in the building industry of China using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and identified key barriers which strongly impact the adoption.
Abstract: BIM is urgently needed by China's building industry to meet its opportunities and challenges. However, compared with developed countries, the progress of BIM development in China is very slow.It is urgently needed to discover the barriers of BIM adoption and identify key barriers which strongly impact the BIM adoption so as to propose corresponding measures to remove the key barriers.A survey about barriers' impact was carried out among Chinese construction practitioners.By using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process),41 "barriers of BIM in Building Industry of china" were identified. In the last part of the thesis,a roadmap of BIM adoption and application in china was developed based upon the measures and characteristics of barriers of the BIM adoption in China.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the influence of the customer experience on satisfaction with mobile phones and found that experience is in fact a significant determinant of satisfaction and that there are differences according to types of mobile phones customers use and the frequency of usage.
Abstract: Global usage of mobile phones initiated a large number of researchers to devote their attention to researching the field of customer satisfaction and implementing postulates of customer behavior in the industry. As there are not many relevant studies conducted in Serbia, in this study we examine the influence of the customer experience on satisfaction with mobile phones. Online survey was used as a method of collecting data from 340 randomly chosen respondents. The findings confirm that experience is in a fact a significant determinant of satisfaction and that there are differences according to types of mobile phones customers use and the frequency of usage. Furthermore, high levels of satisfaction are seen in customers familiar with current models of mobile phones and those following mobile trends.

TL;DR: Why and where this standard is differen t than common ISO 9001 standard along with the benefits that result from its implementation are explained.
Abstract: Initially released in October 1999 by the Society o f Automotive Engineers in the United States and Canada, and the European Association of Aerospace Industries in Europe, and shortly thereafter by standards organizations in Japan and Asia, AS9100 has been re sulted as a cooperative effort of the International Aerospace Quality Group. As such, it combines and harmonizes aerospace requirements outlined in previously different aerospace standards. AS9100 Re vision C was issued in 2009 and it was revised to a lign with ISO 9001:2008 requirements. This article tries to explain why and where this standard is differen t than common ISO 9001 standard along with the benefits that result from its implementation.

TL;DR: In this paper, economic value added (EVA) was presented as a concept that brings the objectivity in the system of modeling long-term incentives for managers and reduces the risks associated with the incentive sys tem.
Abstract: Corporate enterprises develop specific systems of r ewarding managers for successful performances. By taking into account the need of creating shareho lder value, it is necessary to implement method for measuring performance that would satisfy the objectives of shareholders and managers’ interests. The optimal compensation model assumes t hat managers are motivated to create added value for shareholders. One method for modeling the reward system is economic value added (EVA). Economic value added represents a very attra ctive instrument for measuring corporate performances and its management. The subject of thi s paper was the analysis of the economic value added in function of creating incentive systems for managers, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of application of this method. Econom ic value added was presented as a concept that brings the objectivity in the system of modeling lo ng-term incentives for managers and, thereby, reduces the risks associated with the incentive sys tem.

TL;DR: In this article, a model for the stochastic determination of the length of a production cycle time is proposed and experimentally verified in a survey, which is based on the idea of using a work sampling model to monitor the production cycle.
Abstract: A model for the stochastic determination of the ele ments of production cycle time is proposed and experimentally verified in this survey. The origina lity of the model is reflected in the idea of using a work sampling model to monitor the production cycle, as one of the most significant indicators of production effectiveness and efficiency, instead of applying classical methods. It has been experimentally proved that for a corresponding representative set the elements of working time range according to normal distribution law and that, dynamically viewed, it is possible using mean value calculations to establish control limits on 3 standard deviations for the individual elements of working time and thus to master the process.

Abstract: The paper conducted a detailed analysis of production efficiency of construction industry by DEA method in twelve western provinces in 2010.The results show that seven provinces including Chongqing,Sichuan and Shanxi are DEA efficient in the construction;Guizhou,Gansu,Qinghai and Ningxia are in a stage of increasing scale;Yunnan and Qinghai has serious redundancy inputs and insufficiency outputs.Further analysis of the productivity growth of Qinghai Province,we found that its growth rate fluctuated considerably, only coming from technological progress and leading to failure to achieve economies of scale. Finally,we argue that Yunnan and Qinghai should achieve technical and scale efficiency by restructuring, transformation, optimal allocation and effective utilization of asset, and finally, upgrade the overall productivity of the construction.
