TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined parental discipline in 200 families with children aged 1-7 years and asked how to handle conflicts in a dressing, a playing, a traffic, a shopping and a bedtime situation.
Abstract: The present study examines parental discipline. Parents in 200 families with children aged 1–7 years were asked how to handle conflicts in a dressing, a playing, a traffic, a shopping and a bedtime situation. According to “Parental Discipline Interview” the methods selected were: Low Use of Authority (34%), Coercive Verbal Control (31%), Behavior Modification (15%), Physical Restraint (13%), Reasoning (6%) and Physical Punishment (1%). Reasoning and Behavior Modification were used more frequently by mothers. Characteristics of the child, such as age, sex and temperament, as well as characteristics of the parents, such as age, traditional or progressive attitudes and social status, predicted disciplinary methods selected.

TL;DR: The authors discusses the position of the interpretive research tradition within academic psychology from a perspective of feminist psychological theory and discusses questions that frequently emerge during interpretive analyses, both methodological and ethical, from a feminist socialpsychological theoretical perspective.
Abstract: The first part of the article discusses the position of the interpretive research tradition within academic psychology from a perspective of feminist psychological theory. Even though the interpretive research tradition has a long history in psychological science, priority has been given to the positivist epistemological ideal and the methods generated from this ideal. Feminist psychological research is done primarily within the frame of an interpretive epistemological project, which has resulted in the feminist psychological research being ignored as “true” research, both theoretically and methodologically. The second part of the article shows concretely how interpretive analysis is done on the question of how women understand themselves and their lives from their notions of gender. We also discuss questions that frequently emerge during interpretive analyses. These questions, both methodological and ethical, are analyzed from a feminist social-psychological theoretical perspective.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an approach to develop and test objective (T-data) instruments similar to Cattell's Objective-Analytic Battery, which can be used for personality measurement.
Abstract: Psychometric measurement of personality as it is applied today is very problematic and often results in unreliable, invalid prediction. The main problems have been on one hand the number of personality traits and on the other the almost exclusive use of subjective self-report inventories (Q-data), that more or less automatically lead to biased or distorted judgments. The former problem no doubt is the reason for the popularity of the so-called “Big Five” personality dimensions. There are, however, strong reasons for questioning their validity. In order to remedy the latter problem more research is needed in order to develop and test objective (T-data) instruments similar to Cattell's Objective-Analytic Battery.

TL;DR: In this paper, four qualitative dimensions are identified in lay subjects' risk perception: a potency dimension, a novelty dimension, an exposure dimension, and an active-passive dimension.
Abstract: In this article the literature concerning lay subjects' understanding of the risk concept is reviewed and discussed. Empirical findings suggest that the lay conception of risk is multidimensional and deviates from the normative (“statistical”) models of risk. Four different qualitative dimensions are identified in lay subjects' risk perception: A potency dimension, a novelty dimension, an exposure dimension, and an active-passive dimension. These dimensions contribute to explain lay subjects' perceptions of magnitude of risk, acceptability of risk, and their attitudes towards risk management. A lack of correspondance between predictors of perceived risk and subjectively perceived reasons for risk evaluations indicates that subjects may not be fully aware of the factors that motivate their risk perceptions.
