TL;DR: This study showed poor long-term results of the posterior bone block procedure for posterior instability and a high rate of glenohumeral osteoarthritis although three patients with post-traumatic instability were pleased with the result of their operations.
Abstract: J Bone Joint Surg [Br] 2010;92-B:651-5. Received 30 September 2009; Accepted after revision 26 January 2010 We present the long-term outcome, at a median of 18 years (12.8 to 23.5) of open posterior bone block stabilisation for recurrent posterior instability of the shoulder in a heterogenous group of 11 patients previously reported on in 2001 at a median follow-up of six years. We found that five (45%) would not have chosen the operation again, and that four (36%) had further posterior dislocation. Clinical outcome was significantly worse after 18 years than after six years of follow-up (median Rowe score of 60 versus 90 (p = 0.027)). The median Western Ontario Shoulder Index was 60% (37% to 100%) at 18 years’ follow-up, which is a moderate score. At the time of surgery four (36%) had glenohumeral radiological osteoarthritis, which was present in all after 18 years. This study showed poor long-term results of the posterior bone block procedure for posterior instability and a high rate of glenohumeral osteoarthritis although three patients with post-traumatic instability were pleased with the result of their operations.

TL;DR: It was stressed that the spinal cord lipoma should be taken into account the classification in connection with location of the tumor which had close relation with clinical course.
Abstract: 3 cases with spinal lipomas were reported. Each case was classified to extradural, intradural and maldevelopmental lipoma. A 40-year-old man with extradural lipoma showed transverse spinal cord lesion syndrome within one month after the onset of numbness in the thigh and had complete recovery after the total excision. A 20-year-old man with intradural lipoma had long duration of involvement and developed to be spastic paralysis inspite of 4 times operations. An another 58-year-old female with maldevelopmental lipoma had the trouble of the trophic ulceration in her right heel, incontinentia urinae and sensory deficite in the foot and saddle area which developed gradually during past 30 years. After subtotal excision the trophic ulceration healed speedy but the neurological status was unchanged. We stressed that the spinal cord lipoma should be taken into account the classification in connection with location of the tumor which had close relation with clinical course.

TL;DR: The domed osteotomy has been successively performed for 4 cases with the varus deformity of the elbow joint in children, which was caused by the transcondylar or supracodylar fractures of the humerus, and has some disadvantages such as the complicated operation technique, and possibilities of happend trouble of the ulnar nerve palsy by the increased tension of the Ulnar nerve.

TL;DR: In the severely-deformed forefoot, resection arthroplasties of the metatarsophalangeal joint were performed in nineteen feet of fourteen patients and no recurrence of deformity was observed in both methods.
Abstract: Three arthrodeses of the ankle, two arthrodeses of the talo-navicular joint and one triple arthrodesis were done in the posterior part of the foot. Bony union and relief of pain wore gained. In the severely-deformed forefoot, resection arthroplasties of the metatarsophalangeal joint were performed in nineteen feet of fourteen patients. Kates-Kessel-Kay's operation were performed in fourteen feet (10 cases), Clayton's procedure, in nine feet (4 cases). Resection arthroplasties, the metatarsals were trimmed to equal length, brought relief of pain and correction of the deformities. In cases of dorsal incision, mild unsteadiness was ofen seen because of the dorsiflexion of metatarsophalangeal joints. Failure of wound healing was observed in some cases of planter approach.Hallux valgus were corrected by Kelley's operation (3 feet, 2 cases) and McBride's (1 foot, 1 case). Satisfactory results were gained and no recurrence of deformity was observed in both methods.

TL;DR: Two ganglia compressed both superficial and deep branch of the radial nerve and there were full evidence of functional recovery three months after operation.
Abstract: Ganglia are most frequently found in females. They occur most frequently about the wrist joints, volar surface of the finger and dorsum of the foot, but rarely about the elbow joint. Two cases with paralysis of deep branch of the radial nerve were reported.Case 1—woman aged twenty-eight years. She found an ill-defined, oval elastic tumor about 2.5cm, in length on the annular ligament.Case 2—man aged sixty-seven years. He found an oval elastic tumor about 3cm. in length on the radius head. Two ganglia compressed both superficial and deep branch of the radial nerve.Three months after operation, there were full evidence of functional recovery.

TL;DR: The dermatography showed simian crease, and sometimes it was seen in Turner syndrome, and the patient was diagnosed Noonan syndrome and Japes-V-osteotomy puroposed to correct feet deformity.
Abstract: A male of aged 9 was admitted our clinic with complaint of his feet deformity.Clinically, he was seen hypertelorism, low set ear, low hair line, antimongoloid, small mandible, high arched palate, webbed neck, funnel chest, cubitus valgus, round back and bilateral cavus feet.X-ray examination showed kyphoscoliosis, vertebral fusion, spondylolisthesis and spiny bifida occulta. His sex-chromosomes was XY type. The dermatography showed simian crease, and sometimes it was seen in Turner syndrome. We diagnosed Noonan syndrome and performed Japes-V-osteotomy puroposed to correct feet deformity.

TL;DR: Five cases of cervical spinal cord injury associated with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament were reported, and the ages ranged from 48 to 64 years, with an average of 56.2 years.
Abstract: Five cases of cervical spinal cord injury associated with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament were reported. All cases were male patients, and the ages ranged from 48 to 64 years, with an average of 56. 2 years. Tetraplegia occured in all cases, while no or slight complaints were noticed in their necks to the injury. All cases were treated by skull traction as a method of first choice. Anterior fusion was needed for two cases because of respiratory caused by fracture d-slocation of the C5 in one case and spondylotic myelopathy which developed after healing of the spinal injury in another case. All cases improved but one.

TL;DR: A 52-year-old female patient has been affected by a slightly painful tumor in the right hypothener region since 8 years, which was macroscopically soft and bluepink mass encapsulated with smooth covering membrance was arised from the ulnar artery.
Abstract: A 52-year-old female patient has been affected by a slightly painful tumor in the right hypothener region since 8 years. The tumor was measured as 10×10mm, not tender. And there was a continuous murmur on the tumor. However, angiogram did not show any prominent vascular changes.Surgical extirpation was done, and the tumor which was macroscopically soft and bluepink mass encapsulated with smooth covering membrance was arised from the ulnar artery. Soon after the extirpation of the tumor with a part of the ulnar artery, mlcrovascular anastomosls was practiced.Histological study showed “angioleiomyoma”. The case was reported and discussed in this paper.

TL;DR: The major clinical findings are short-trunk type of short stature, which becomes prominent in adolescence, ind osteoarthritic pain of hips and/or knees in adulthood, and radiographic findings are hump-shaped buildup of end plates of vertebrae and premature osteOarthrosis of hips, knees, and other large joints.
Abstract: Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia tarda is a rare condition, which Martoteaux et al. first recognized as a disticnt clinical entity in 1957. We observed two patients of this involvement of late. The major clinical findings are short-trunk type of short stature, which becomes prominent in adolescence, ind osteoarthritic pain of hips and/or knees in adulthood. The radiographic findings are characterise c hump-shaped buildup of end plates of vertebrae and premature osteoarthrosis of hips, knees, and other large joints. Key Word: Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasis tarda, radiological findings

TL;DR: To study the relation between cervical corculation and function, vertebral angiography was performed in 17 cases with cervical cord injuries after operation and did not find clear relation between anterior spinal artery and cervical cord function.
Abstract: To study the relation between cervical corculation and function, vertebral angiography was performed in 17 cases with cervical cord injuries after operation. We classified anterior spinal artery into continued, partial disappear and disappear. And we assessed cervical cord function with Frankel classification. We did not find clear relation between anterior spinal artery and cervical cord function.
