A 9:16 video camera with scene-adaptive intelligent control

TLDR
A wide-screen color video camera with a 1/3 in 9:16 charge coupled device (CCD) imager was successfully developed to get a higher picture quality, exposure and white-balance were adaptively controlled through automatically understanding when and where the camera was used.
Abstract
As one application of digital camera signal processing, a wide-screen color video camera with a 1/3 in 9:16 charge coupled device (CCD) imager was successfully developed. To get a higher picture quality, exposure and white-balance were adaptively controlled through automatically understanding when and where the camera was used. The camera has full 500-line resolution and can be applied to a wide-screen TV system. >

A multimedia color camera providing multi-format digital images

TL;DR: A multimedia-use color camera has been developed which provides not only an analog video output but also digital images of various formats such as a CIF (common intermediate format) YC video image and an RGB (red, green, blue) still image with square pixels as discussed by the authors.

Model-based control of image acquisition

TL;DR: Two methods for controlling the acquisition of images using a camera/digitiser combination which seek to make good use of the dynamic range of the digitiser, using the grey level histogram to characterise the level of control.

Color image enhancement using both chromatic and luminance components

Hague, +1 more
TL;DR: New algorithms for color histogram equalization, automatic white balance and color filtering are presented using the C-Y (color difference) color model, which produces improved white balanced results and enhances the ability of histograms equalization to increase saturation contrast.

Image acquisition using aperture control adapted to spatio-temporal properties

TL;DR: Results for aperture control adapted to regions of interest characterized by 2D and 3D spatio-temporal properties are presented, and adaptation time and improvement of image quality are measured and compared.

Real-time object extraction system with sequential growing

TL;DR: A novel system for real-time object extraction from a moving video image using multi-channel thresholding in a color space for extracting a target with several colors as a single object and a key algorithm, called sequential growing, which exploits interfield correlation of a video image and realizes field-rate operation.

A Digital Video Camera With An Arbitrary Aspect Ratio

TL;DR: In this article, a video camera with an arbitrary aspect ratio was developed using newly developed digital signal processing VLSI circuits, which adaptively controlled by a microcomputer, and the proposed wide-screen CCD (chargecoupled device) imager could compete with conventional 3:4 imagers.
