Journal ArticleDOI

Daily rhythm of temporal resolution in the auditory system.

TL;DR: Auditory fusion thresholds showed a diurnal rhythm with a maximum performance around midnight and order thresholds appear to be independent on the time of day, while sex specific differences in threshold levels were only observed in order thresholds but not in fusion thresholds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Time dilation and acceleration in depression.

TL;DR: It is found that subjective time accelerates from initial dilation within present experience to subsequent acceleration within working memory when depressed, and a potential link between time experience and judgement within the same explanatory model is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI

Special Issue: Consciousness science and its theories Time consciousness: the missing link in theories of consciousness.

TL;DR: In this paper, a brief review finds that many dominant theories of consciousness only refer to brief, static, and discrete "functional moments" of time and very few refer to more extended, dynamic, and continuous time, which is associated with conscious experience.
Journal ArticleDOI

Duration Perception Versus Perception Duration: A Proposed Model for the Consciously Experienced Moment

TL;DR: In this article, a potential neurobiological pathway through the salience, default mode, and central executive networks is sketched, which culminates in a candidate model of how duration perception and consciousness arises.
Journal ArticleDOI

From Shorter to Longer Timescales: Converging Integrated Information Theory (IIT) with the Temporo-Spatial Theory of Consciousness (TTC)

Georg Northoff, +1 more
- 01 Feb 2022 -
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors converge the IIT with the Temporo-spatial Theory of Consciousness (TTC), which, assuming a multitude of different timescales, can take into view the temporal integration of specific phenomenal contents with other phenomenal contents over time.

Encyclopedia of Neuroscience

TL;DR: The Encyclopedia of Neuroscience on CD-ROM as mentioned in this paper is an essential reference and learning tool for anyone involved in the study of the brain and how it mediates behavior, including several Nobel Prize winners.

The Study of Time

J. T. Fraser
TL;DR: A retrospective look at the proceedings in the context of the large-scale questions which prompted the whole venture can be found in this paper, where the authors present a collection of interviews from the proceedings.
Journal ArticleDOI

Excitability cycles in central intermittency.

TL;DR: Choice reaction time with two alternatives (optic and acoustic stimuli) was measured in an experiment with 24 subjects and multi-modalities were observed, which can best be accounted for by a model of excitability cycles.
