Abstract
The construction of a semipassive adaptive cooled bimorph mirror is described. The results are given of an investigation of its principal characteristics, such as the sensitivity and the response function of the electrodes. The results of tests under the influence of a high-power laser beam are also given.

Control of high power CO2 laser beam by adaptive optical elements

TL;DR: In this paper, the spatial and temporal beam characteristics of a cw pumped CO 2 laser with active mirrors in the cavity have been investigated, where one of the folding mirrors was replaced by a water cooled flexible mirror based on a bimorph piezoelement.

Cw industrial rod YAG:Nd 3+ laser with an intracavity active bimorph mirror

TL;DR: A special type of resonator with an intracavity wide-aperture active mirror was built, and a concave spherical bimorph active corrector was investigated, and it was shown that various radiation mode structures could be formed at the laser output and in the far-field zone.

A Cooled Deformable Bimorph Mirror for a High Power Laser

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the temperature profiles and corresponding thermal distortions of the bimorph mirror faceplate when the mirror is under a high power lasing for 10 seconds, and then they proposed an embedded wafer type water-cooling system with derived cooling parameters.

Phase effects in passive nonlinear resonators

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that effective suppression of phase distortions in systems of this kind resembles phase conjugation, and that control of the phase of a light wave inside such resonators can provide an active means for modifying the spatial characteristics of the output radiation by producing optical fields with the required structure.

Laser resonator with active mirror-generation of Q-switch regime in industrial CO2 laser

TL;DR: The results of the use of two types of adaptive mirrors to generate quasi-Q-switch pulses of the CO2 laser radiation are presented in this article, where the excess of the output power in peak above the average level in CW regime was more then 2.5 times.

Flexible mirror for adaptive light-beam formation systems

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of semipassive controlled bimorph ceramic mirrors (glass and copper) were investigated and the amplitude-frequency characteristics and sensitivity of these mirrors, and the surface profiles were determined.
