In this article, novel amphoteric emulsifiers are disclosed for solventless and solvent containing mixing grade, oil-in-water anionic and cationic bituminous emulsions.
Abstract
Novel amphoteric emulsifiers are disclosed for solventless and solvent containing mixing grade, oil-in-water anionic and cationic bituminous emulsions, which emulsifiers are the modified reaction products of polyamines with certain polycarboxylic acids and sulfonated carboxylic acids. Modifications are carried out by reacting the nitrogen-containing intermediate with formaldehyde and sodium sulfite or bisulfite, chloroalkane sulfonic acid salts, γ-propane sultone, chloroalkane phosphonic acids, acrylic acid, fumaric acid, maleic acid and chloroethanoic acid.

Cationic aqueous bituminous emulsion-aggregate slurries

TL;DR: In this article, Cationic oil in water type bituminous-aggregate slurries capable of being worked are disclosed, which contain a densely graded aggregate, from about 8% to about 20% of an aqueous emulsion based on the weight of the aggregate.

Method for producing bitumen compositions

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed bituminous paving compositions suitable for use in paving applications containing bitumen emulsion of performance-grade bitumen that is substantially free of volatile solvents and made by controlling temperature-dependent interfacial rheology through the use of selected emulsifiers.

Method for producing bituminous compositions

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method for the production of bituminous compositions formulated with performance-graded bitumen-containing solvent-free bitumen emulsions which exhibit controllable, temperature-dependent interfacial rheology.

Emulsifiers for bituminous emulsions

TL;DR: In this paper, reaction products of polyamines with certain polycarboxylic acid anhydrides are modified by reacting with formaldehyde and sodium sulfite or bisulfite, formaldehyde, and phosphorus acid, haloalkane sulfonic acid salts, γ-propane sultone, acrylic acid, fumaric acid, maleic acid and Haloalkanoic acids.

Reflective asphalt emulsions and method

TL;DR: A reflective asphalt emulsion is formed by dispersing asphalt into a slurry of colloidal clay at high shear and thereafter blending titanium dioxide and diatomaceous earth filler, and optionally acrylic latex, at low shear into the emulsion of clay and asphalt to form a white to light gray emulsion having a soft consistency and good shelf life.
