Season and sex of host affect intensities of ectoparasites in western fence lizards (sceloporus occidentalis) on the central coast of california

TL;DR: There was a slight, positive relationship between size of lizard and intensity of ticks, but not with intensity of mites, and greater intensities of ectoparasites on S. occidentalis than several other studies, which may be due to differences in habitats and methods.

Host and Distribution Lists of Chiggers (Trombiculidae and Leeuwenhoekiidae), of North American Wild Vertebrates North of Mexico

TL;DR: This paper summarizes published information on chiggers found on North American wild vertebrates, including their hosts and their geographic distribution, and lists of the chigger organized taxonomically, hosts from which each species has been reported, and states and provinces with references for each separate record.

NEW SPECIES OF FLEAS (Siphonaptera) FROM CERRO POTOSI, MEXICO, WITH NOTES ON ECOLOGY AND HOST PARASITE RELATIONSHIPS

TL;DR: Evidence is presented, in the form of charts and graphs, which indicates that elevation and season are likely of greater significance in the distribution of fleas than sex of host, at least among small rodents which produce several litters per year.

The Seasonal Occurrence of Harvest Mites (Trombicula autumnalis Shaw) on Voles and Mice near Oxford

TL;DR: Examination of monthly quotas of Apodemus sylvaticus, Clethrionomys glareolus, and Microtus hirtus for parasites over a period of 21 months enabled the seasonal occurrence of Trombicula autumnalis larvae to be determined.
