Anaesthesia for Total Correction of Transposition of the Great Vessels

TLDR
Transposition of the great vessels is a very serious but rather rare type of congenital heart disease that is almost as common as tetralogy of Fallot and accounts for one quarter of all cyanotic infants.
Abstract
Transposition of the great vessels is a very serious but rather rare type of congenital heart disease. It occurs once in about 11,000 live births and in 8% of children with congenital heart disease. In infancy, it is almost as common as tetralogy of Fallot and accounts for one quarter of all cyanotic infants. Transposition is seen in about 20% of autopsies on children with congenital heart disease [21].
