Atomic absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy with a carbon filament atom reservoir : Part I. Construction and operation of atom reservoir

TL;DR: In this paper, a carbon filament atom reservoir is described for use in atomic absorption and atomic fluoresence spectroscopy, which operates with an inexpensive transformer unit and is so compact that it may easily be fitted in the place of the burner-nebuliser unit on any commercial atomic absorption equipment and operated with perfect safety without flame extractors or precautions against fire or electrocution hazards.
Journal ArticleDOI

Atomization problems in atomic absorption spectroscopy—I. A study of the operation of a typical nebulizer, spray chamber and burner system

TL;DR: In this article, a study of the mode of operation of the nebulizing system of a commercial atomic absorption spectrophotometer was made, and an experimental determination of drop-size distribution of the spray entering the flame points to the importance of small drop size for the efficient atomization of metals which tend to form refractory compounds in the flame.

Some causes of bending of analytical curves in atomic absorption spectroscopy

I. Rubeška, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the shape of analytical curves in atomic absorption spectroscopy are considered and the influence of the emission and absorption line profiles is discussed in detail. And the possible influence of resonance line broadening and resonance line shift on atomic absorption flame photometry is also discussed.
