Abstract
A method for automatic management of a timestamp-based synchronization protocol within a packet-based network to synchronize a slave within a synchronization topology including a plurality of masters, the slave clock being locked to a master clock at an initialization time, said method comprising an assessment step of end-to-end packet delay variation on the basis of the slave clock accuracy, over a plurality of (slave, path, master) combinations, each path linking the slave to a master.

Timing over packet demarcation entity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a packet inspector that uses the copied timing information and timestamps to synchronize a local clock to a master clock, and forwards the received packets for transmission from a port of the at least one port towards a packet destination that is not a packet source from where the packets originate.

Time adjustment using time-to-live values

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a timing module that determines a time adjustment based at least in part on the determination that the first and second TTL values are different, and applies the time adjustment to update the time of the network device.

Transparent Caching of Configuration Data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present systems, software, and computer implemented methods for providing transparent caching of configuration data in distributed landscapes, including operations for receiving a read request of original configuration data stored at a second system A first timestamp associated with local configuration data at a first system is identified, and the second timestamp is determined to be later in time than the first timestamp.

Clock synchronization system, clock synchronization method, and storage medium whereupon clock synchronization program is stored

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a time regeneration unit (TUM) for synchronization of the time of the slave node. But the time comparison unit (TCU) was not used to calculate the correction value.

Method and system to calculate network latency, and to display the same field of the invention

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a method to calculate network latency by correlating a first packet identifier recorded at a first network location with a second packet identifier at a second network location, in which the first and second packet identifiers indicate a common first packet and have respective first-and second timestamps associated therewith.

Method and circuit arrangement for the monitoring and management of data traffic in a communication system with several communication nodes

TL;DR: In this article, a method for the monitoring and management of data traffic in a communication system with several communication nodes which communicate via interfaces monitored by a bus monitor, comprising the following steps:a) provision of a predefined communication time schedule for all communication nodes,b) initialization of the bus monitor and synchronization of the communication timeslots with the pre-defined communication time schedules executed by the communication nodes in a distributed arrangement, the synchronization taking place on the basis of activities observed at the interfaces.
