The role of capital and credit markets in regional development: problems and issues
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the major problem facing regional capital and credit markets in their relationship to regional development and discuss two ways in which capital markets play a crucial role in regional development: (1) they mobilize local savings resources and allocate them between sectors and industries within the region and (2) they provide the mechanism by which financial resources flow between regions and the national economy.
