Abstract
The deposition-stripping behavior of iodide films at the hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) is investigated. Surface monolayers of Hg . HgI and Hg/sub 2/I/sub 2/ are postulated based on the percentage occupancy of the available sites at the surface of the HMDE. Submonolayer films of Hg . HgI, as stripped from the electrode, are used to determine iodine concentrations from 1 to 50 ppb with a standard deviation of 0.3 ppb.
