Geomorphology of Desert Environments

TL;DR: In this article, a measure of aridity is used to identify the world distribution of deserts, based on a variety of geomorphic, climatic, and/or vegetational indices.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geologic-Climatic Dating in the West

Ernst Antevs
- 01 Apr 1955 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used geology, the relationship between moisture, vegetation, and geological processes, and on climatic history to date arid and semi-arid sites in the western United States.

The Geographic Cycle in Periglacial Regions as it is Related to Climatic Geomorphology

TL;DR: Davis, in his early writings (1899-1909), recognised that some aspects of the geographic cycle were related to the climatic regime under which they were formed.

A bottom-up control on fresh-bedrock topography under landscapes

TL;DR: A quantitative model is proposed to predict the vertical extent of weathered rock underlying soil-mantled hillslopes and the depth to fresh bedrock, hypothesizing that once fresh bedrock is advected into the near surface through uplift and erosion, channel incision produces a lateral head gradient within the fresh bedrock inducing drainage toward the channel.
