Controlling a building system based on real time events

TLDR
In this article, a method for controlling a building system includes using at least one sensor to detect occupancy in a building over time, determining a predictive schedule based on the occupancy detected with the sensor, and associate real time events that occur simultaneously with an occupancy state of the predictive schedule.
Abstract
Methods and systems are described for controlling parameters in a building. According to at least one embodiment, a method for controlling a building system includes using at least one sensor to detect occupancy in a building over time, determining a predictive schedule based on the occupancy detected with the at least one sensor, and associate real time events that occur simultaneously with an occupancy state of the predictive schedule.

Child monitoring bracelet/anklet

Brandon Hatch
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe methods and systems for tracking location using a home automation system, including receiving sensor data indicating presence of a wearable tracking device in a predetermined area of a property monitored by the home automation systems, confirming an identity of the tracking device, and generating a notice indicating a location of the tracker.

Automated environment providing feedback based on user routine

TL;DR: In this article, a device in an automated environment can detect patterns in the user's interactions with accessories in the automated environment and can provide feedback to the user based on the patterns, such as suggesting automation of particular actions based on patterns; suggesting actions that conform to the pattern when the user performs part of the pattern; or suggesting changes to a pattern to conform to a preferred pattern.

Controlling parameters in a building

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors described a method for controlling a building's occupancy and reliability using a first sensor type to determine whether the building is occupied and a second sensor type that determines how reliable the first sensor can determine occupancy.

Aggregating user routines in an automated environment

TL;DR: In this article, mobile devices used by users in an environment can provide information about the users' behavior patterns to a coordinator device that can be located in the environment, which can analyze the information to detect an aggregate pattern that involves multiple mobile devices and/or multiple users.
