TLDR
In this paper, a corrected curve of free ion yield versus electric field was given for n−hexane as well as new curves for 2−methylpentane, 2,2,4−trimethylpentane and carbon tetrachloride.
Abstract
A corrected curve of free ion yield versus electric field is given for n‐hexane as well as new curves for 2‐methylpentane, 2,2,4‐trimethylpentane, and carbon tetrachloride. Comparison with the Onsager theory of geminate ion recombination does not give reasonable agreement over the entire range of field strengths for any of the functions used.(AIP)

Geminate ion recombination in irradiated liquid CCl4: As observed by means of microwave and optical absorption pulse radiolysis and compared with calculations based on a single ion pair model

TL;DR: In this article, a single ion pair model was used to calculate the survival probability against recombination as a function of time, W, for pairs of oppositely charged ions in liquid CCl 4 by measuring the microwave absorption at 8.7 GHz (X-band) and 29 GHz (Ka-band).

Initial Recombination of Ions

TL;DR: In the absence of forces other than the Coulomb attraction, the probability of escape equals the reciprocal of the Boltzmann factor as discussed by the authors, which is the proper procedure whenever the Langevin factor equals unity, as in gases at high pressures.

Free‐Ion Yields in Sundry Irradiated Liquids

TL;DR: The yield of free ion pairs formed by 2-MeV x rays was determined in 38 pure liquids and in four mixed systems at room temperature, and in five liquids as a function of temperature as discussed by the authors.

Electron ranges in liquid alkenes, dienes, and alkynes: Range distribution function in hydrocarbons

TL;DR: In this paper, a range distribution of the secondary electrons in hydrocarbons, suitable for use in the one-ion−pair−per-spur model, is given, where F(y)dx is the fraction of thermalized electron ion pairs that have initial separation distances between y and y+dy, and bGP is the dispersion parameter.
