TLDR
In this article, a system that makes use of two PTFE narrow-bore tubes with different internal diameters is discussed, where the pre-separation narrowbore tube, which has the larger internal diameter, allows work at a higher current density during final separation and detection by means of conductivity and UV absorption detectors.

Sample stacking of an extremely large injection volume in high-performance capillary electrophoresis

TL;DR: Sample stacking is a sample on-column concentration technique in high performance capillary electrophoresis (HPCE) as mentioned in this paper, but the amount of sample which can be loaded into the column in conventional sample stacking is rather limited because of disturbance caused by the low-concentration sample buffer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Field amplified sample injection in high-performance capillary electrophoresis

TL;DR: In this article, a simple on-column concentration technique in high-performance capillary electrophoresis (HPCE) is reported, where a short plug of water before sample introduction is injected to provide a high electric field strength from the beginning of the injection.
Journal ArticleDOI

On-line preconcentration methods for capillary electrophoresis.

TL;DR: A number of different techniques are discussed, including field‐amplified sample stacked, large‐volume sample stacking, pH‐mediated sample stacking), on‐column isotachophoresis, chromatographic preconcentration, sample stacking for micellar electrokinetic chromatography, and sweeping.

Sample Stacking in capillary zone electrophoresis : Principles, advantages and limitations

TL;DR: The principles of stacking procedures are described and their properties are discussed, including the fundamentals of the behavior of zone boundaries and the consequences of the self‐correcting properties of boundaries in moving boundary electrophoresis, isotachophoreis, and zone electrophoreis.

Isotachophoresis: the concepts of resolution, load capacity and separation efficiency. I.Theory

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors have discussed the fundamental definitions of resolution and separability in isotachophoresis and extensively discussed the effect of operational parameters, i.e., pH, electrical driving current, sample load and counter constituent on the separation process in terms of resolution time, detection time and load capacity.

Conditions for rapid separations of nucleobases and nucleosides by high-pressure anion-exchange chromatography

TL;DR: In this article, the retention behavior of nucleobases (purine and pyrimidine bases) and their nucleosides in systems consisting of water-ethanol mixtures with added electrolytes as mobile phase and a resin-type anion exchanger (Aminex A-28) as stationary phase was systematically investigated.

Preparative capillary isotachophoresis

TL;DR: Capillary isotachophoresis has been developed and modified for use as a preparative method as discussed by the authors, where the sample zones are pushed out of the capillary under voltage by a counter-flow of leading electrolyte through a small T-tube connection immediately after the UV detector.

Capillary isotachophoresis with ultraviolet detection some quantitative aspects

TL;DR: In this article, the basic theory of UV detector response is presented, and the use of UAV response as a quantitative measure for small amounts of UV absorbing compounds is demonstrated, using this technique complete analysis of mixtures containing components differing in relative amounts by up to four orders of magnitude.

Isotachophoresis in narrow-bore tubes. Influence of the diameter of the separation compartment

TL;DR: The importance of the inside diameter of the separation compartment of electrophoretic equipment in which tubes are used in achieving optimal stabilization against conventive disturbances and for limiting the temperature increase is demonstrated.
