European corn borer control with Bacillus thuringiensis standardized as corn borer international units

TLDR
Bacillus thuringiensis products (Dipel and Thuricide HPC) were standardized against the European corn borer by using standard bioassay techniques and gave better control of thecorn borer than did the spray formulations.

Toxicity of Bacillus thuringiensis Spo Cr Mutants for the European Corn Borer Ostrinia nubilalis.

TL;DR: Inclusion bodies isolated from Spo Cr mutants of Bacillus thuringiensis were toxic for larvae of the European corn borer, and inclusion bodies pretreated with alpha-chymotrypsinogen were equally as toxic as native crystals for the insect larvae.

A proposed standardized bioassay for formulations of Bacillus thuringiensis based on the international unit.

TL;DR: A bioassay based on the international unit and using the cabbage looper, Trichoplusia ni, is proposed to fulfill the requirement for standardization of preparations of Bacillus thuringiensis containing the δ-endotoxin by spore count alone.

Production of δ-endotoxin by eighteen isolates of Bacillus thuringiensis, serotype 3, in 3 fermentation media

TL;DR: The spore-δ-endotoxin complex of Bacillus thuringiensis was recovered from beers produced by 16 isolates and the activity of preparations of B. thuriengiensis could not be predicted from the serotype.

Encapsulation as a Technique for Formulating Microbial and Chemical Insecticides

TL;DR: In field tests the capsule formulation was applied dry and in spray form, giving good control in both, and an emulsifiable formulation of the bacterium also gave good corn borer control.

Gustatory Stimulant, Sunlight Protectant, Evaporation Retardant: Three Characteristics of a Microbial Insecticidal Adjuvant

TL;DR: A commercial adjuvant developed for use with microbial insecticides provided protection against inactivation of Baculovirus heliothis by sunlight, retarded evaporation of water-virus mixture, and also stimulated feeding by larvae of the bollworm.
