TLDR
A device for enhancing the safety and efficiency of a hand-operated electrosurgical pencil having an electrode with a distal end defining a tip for cutting or coagulating biological tissue, which device comprises a nose piece adapted to be mounted about said electrode and containing conduit means defining converging pathways for streams of gas which impinge obliquely on said electrode at or near the tip thereof as discussed by the authors.
Abstract
A device for enhancing the safety and efficiency of a hand-operated electrosurgical pencil having an electrode with a distal end defining a tip for cutting or coagulating biological tissue, which device comprises a nose piece adapted to be mounted about said electrode and containing conduit means defining converging pathways for streams of gas which impinge obliquely on said electrode at or near the tip thereof, and electrosurgical apparatus incorporating said device and a method for coagulating or cutting biological tissue using said apparatus.

Surgical Stapling Apparatus

TL;DR: In this article, a surgical stapling device particularly suited for endoscopic procedures is described, which includes a handle assembly and an elongated body extending distally from the handle assembly.
Patent

Surgical stapling instrument

TL;DR: In this paper, a surgical stapling instrument (1) comprises a body portion (2, 3), a handle (4), and a staple fastening assembly (8), which includes a curved cartridge (10), which comprises at least one curved open row of staples, and a curved anvil (22), which is adapted to cooperate with the cartridge for forming the ends of the staples exiting from the cartridge.
Patent

Display screen or portion thereof with graphical user interface

TL;DR: Newness and distinctiveness is claimed in the features of ornamentation as shown inside the broken line circle in the accompanying representation as discussed by the authors, which is the basis for the representation presented in this paper.
Patent

Surgical stapling instrument with an articulatable end effector

TL;DR: In this paper, a surgical instrument can comprise a channel configured to support a staple cartridge and, in addition, an anvil pivotable between open and closed positions relative to the channel.
Patent

Electrosurgical generator and system

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a controller that can cause the generator to supply a blended output signal alternating constantly between a first output signal across the output connections in which the radio frequency output voltage developed across output connections is limited to at least a first predetermined threshold value for cutting or vaporization of tissue, and a second output signal with a power supply coupled to the output stage for supplying power to output stage.

Electrosurgical method and apparatus for initiating an electrical discharge in an inert gas flow

TL;DR: An electrosurgical method and apparatus for coagulating by fulguration where the electrical discharge is established through a formation of flowing inert gas where the formation may either be a diffuse blanket of the flowing gas or a well defined column thereof is described in this paper.
Patent

Electrosurgical conductive gas stream technique of achieving improved eschar for coagulation

TL;DR: In this paper, electrical radio frequency energy is conducted to the tissue in ionized conductive pathways in the gas jet in order to achieve coagulation and to expose the tissue stroma.
Patent

Method and apparatus for generating plasma

TL;DR: In this paper, a hollow, electrically-conductive conduit connected in series with a radio frequency resonant circuit is constructed for producing an electric-field plasma, which is generated at ambient pressures and at substantial thermal nonequilibrium.
Patent

Electrosurgical conductive gas stream equipment

TL;DR: An electrosurgical unit for conducting a predetermined ionizable gas in a jet stream to the tissue at a predetermined flow rate sufficient to clear natural fluids from the tissue and to substantially expose the tissue stroma and for exposing the gas to an electrical radio frequency energy to ionize the gas in conductive pathways in the gas jet stream as mentioned in this paper.
Patent

Electric arc torches

TL;DR: An electric arc torch using a plasma forming stabilizing gas to maintain an arc between the tip of the torch electrode and a work piece to be cut, welded or otherwise treated.
