TLDR
The ion trap mass spectra of the most common terpenes (hydrocarbons found in oils, resins, and balsams) found in nature are presented in this article.
Abstract
This handbook presents the ion trap mass spectra of the most common terpenes (hydrocarbons found in oils, resins, and balsams) found in nature, including relative retention/elution times, an extensive synonymy of common and IUPAC names, CAS registry numbers, molecular formulas, and structures

Determination of the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of the essential oil of Artemisia dracunculus and of the antifungal and antibacterial activities of Turkish Artemisia absinthium, A. dracunculus, Artemisia santonicum, and Artemisia spicigera essential oils.

TL;DR: The essential oil isolated from Turkish tarragon by hydrodistillation was analyzed by GC-MS and antioxidant and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activities of tarragons oil were determined, and weak antioxidant and DPPH radical scavenge activities were found in comparison to butylated hydroxytoluene.

Antibacterial activity of turmeric oil: a byproduct from curcumin manufacture.

TL;DR: In this article, turmeric oleoresin was extracted from the mother liquor using hexane at 60 degrees C, and the hexane extract was separated into three fractions using silica gel column chromatography.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of structure and molecular properties of terpenoids in determining their antimicrobial activity.

TL;DR: The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of 60 terpenoids against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans have been determined.

Trends in floral scent chemistry in pollination syndromes: floral scent composition in moth-pollinated taxa

TL;DR: In this paper, an assemblage of 17 species of bird-pollinated Ecuadorian plants (from 14 angiosperm families) were studied, including taxa pollinated by short-billed (trochiline) and sickle billed (hermit) hummingbirds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Infraspecific taxonomy and essential oil chemotypes in sweet basil, Ocimum basilicum

TL;DR: A system for the classification of essential oil chemotypes in O. basilicum is proposed because of the chemical heterogeneity of this taxon and its use as an essential oil-producing crop, culinary herb, medicinal plant and insect-controlling agent, in which chemicals play an important role.
