TLDR
In this article, an image processor system for a charge coupled device (CCD) or CMOS imaging system includes a correlated double sample and variable gain (CDSVGA) circuit for receiving data from a CCD system and an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit which first controls gain by adjusting a CCS system and then for yet a higher gain level makes gain adjustments in said CDSVIA circuit and a digital gain circuit to produce a combined target gain level.Abstract:
An image processor system for a charge coupled device (CCD) or CMOS imaging system includes a correlated double sample and variable gain (CDSVGA) circuit for receiving data from a CCD system and an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit which first controls gain by adjusting said CCD system and then for yet a higher gain level makes gain adjustments in said CDSVGA circuit AND a digital gain circuit to produce a combined target gain level. A processing system for an imager device includes a camera system for producing an imager signal, a correlated double sample (CDS) circuit for receiving data from an imager, a variable gain amplifier (VGA), an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) coupled to said CDS circuit, a digital gain circuit (DGC) coupled to said ADC, and an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit coupled to said DGC for controlling the CDS circuit and the DGC. The processing circuitry includes an analog front end and a digital signal processing system for capturing full motion video and outputting a CCIR 601 4:2:2 YCrCb video data output for presentation on a user selected display.read more

Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Device
TL;DR: In this article, a low-voltage control without largely increasing the circuit layout area in a low power consumption structure is presented. But the authors focus on the case of low-speed control, where the region operates on voltages between a power supply voltage and a virtual reference potential.
Patent
Apparatus including a dual camera module and method of using the same
TL;DR: In this paper, the dual camera module includes a flex interconnect on which a first image module and a second image module are attached, each image module adapted to capture images, and the two image modules can be placed such that images can be captured in different directions, at different resolutions, independently or simultaneously.
Patent
Image sensing and printing device
TL;DR: In this article, an image sensing and printing digital camera device includes a housing defining a slot for receiving a printed instruction card having printed thereon an array of dots representing a programming script, the housing further storing therein a roll of print media.
Patent
Digital color image pre-processing
TL;DR: In this article, an automatic gain control of the sensor output is performed to generate a first output, followed by a white balance correction to the first output and a gamma correction of the second output to generate the third output.
Patent
Camera system comprising color display and processor for decoding data blocks in printed coding pattern
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a camera system including a substrate having a coding pattern printed thereon and a handheld digital camera device. The camera device includes a digital camera unit having a first image sensor for capturing images and a color display for displaying captured images to a user.

Situation information system
TL;DR: A wireless system for providing services and time-critical information about places and events to mobile computers and their users proximate to their current locations or potential destinations within enclosed areas, urban landscapes, and open areas, including travel distances and transit times, entertainment, merchants' messages, area attractions, communications, current locations of system users as mentioned in this paper.
Patent
Cellular telephone system that uses position of a mobile unit to make call management decisions
Everett Dennison,Timothy J. Duffy,Gregory T Pauley,Scott L. Jones,Albert H. Pharis,Warren P. Williamson +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a cellular telephone system includes a plurality of cell sites and a mobile telephone switching office, and call management, including selection of a cell site most appropriate for a call associated with a mobile unit, are made based on the geographic location of the mobile unit as opposed to the strength of signal associated with the call.
Patent
Enterprise connectivity to handheld devices
Gerald V. Wright,James O'Grady +1 more
TL;DR: The FormLogic (FL) client/server system as mentioned in this paper is a system for accessing existing enterprise data sources on an occasional basis by exchanging a minimum amount of data, since wireless transports do not move large amounts of data quickly and data is expensive to move.
Patent
Firewall system for protecting network elements connected to a public network
Christopher Coley,Ralph Wesinger +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a firewall for isolating network elements from a publicly accessible network to which such network elements are attached by assigning a variety of proxy agents that are specifically assigned to an incoming request in accordance with the service protocol (i.e., port number) indicated in the incoming access request.
Patent
Flexible radio access and resource allocation in a universal mobile telephone system (umts)
TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a flexible radio access and resource allocation in a Universal Mobile Telephone System (UMTS) which includes plural base stations for communicating with mobile radios over a radio/air interface using radio channel resources allocated by a radio network controller.
