Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of salt (nacl) stress on germination and early seedling growth of four vegetables species

TL;DR: In this paper, four vegetables species were treated with different concentration of salt solution to study salt effect and the results indicated that salinity caused a signifi cant reduction in germination percentage, germination rate, root and shoot lengths and fresh root and weigh weights.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of proaggregatory and antiaggregatory prostaglandins in hemostasis. Studies with combined thromboxane synthase inhibition and thromboxane receptor antagonism.

TL;DR: Prostaglandin endoperoxides can partly substitute for the activity of TXA2 in vivo in man and that an increased formation of endogenous antiaggregatory and vasodilatory prostaglandins, as obtained with selective thromboxane synthase inhibitors, may contribute to the impairment of hemostasis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antipsychotic-like profile of combined treatment with raclopride and 8-OH-DPAT in the rat: enhancement of antipsychotic-like effects without catalepsy.

TL;DR: The present findings demonstrate strong interactions between a 5-HT agonist and a DA D2 antagonist on some critical tests for antipsychotic-like actions and extrapyramidal motor effects in rats, and suggest new possibilities in the search for new antipsychotics drugs with higher clinical efficacy and less extrapYramidal side effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activated chemical defense in aplysina sponges revisited.

TL;DR: It is concluded that tissue damage induces a bioconversion of isoxazoline alkaloids into aeroplysinin-1 and dienone in Aplysina sponges, and this reaction is likely catalyzed by enzymes, and it may be ecologically relevant as theBioconversion products possibly protect the wounded sponge tissue from invasion of bacterial pathogens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of acute hypoxia on vascular responsiveness in man. I. Responsiveness to lower body negative pressure and ice on the forehead. II. Responses to norepinephrine and angiotensin. 3. Effect of hypoxia and hypocapnia.

TL;DR: The results indicate that hypocapnia may diminish the vascular response to some stimuli, but the reduction in oxygen appears to be the primary mechanism for decreased vasoconstrictor responses during acute hypoxia.

Crescimento reduzido por salinidade, fotoquímica PS2 e conteúdo de clorofila em rabanete

TL;DR: The photochemical efficiency of PS2 (Fv/Fm) had a positive relationship with the photochemical quenching coefficient (qP), leaf area and chlorophyll content but had no relation with Fv'/Fm', Fo/fm, and qN.
