Journal ArticleDOI

Prediction and theory evaluation: the case of light bending.

TL;DR: Historical cases suggest that novelty may be of little importance in evaluating theories, and may even detract from the evidential value of a fact, until it is clear that competing theories cannot account for the new fact.
Journal ArticleDOI

Radiation reaction of a classical quasi-rigid extended particle

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of the self-interaction of a quasi-rigid classical particle with an arbitrary spherically symmetric charge distribution is completely solved up to the first order in the acceleration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Motion of a Relativistic Particle and the Vacuum

TL;DR: In this paper, the motion of a relativistic particle in relation to its interaction with the medium is discussed and the equations of the particle path in Euclidean space are derived.
Journal ArticleDOI

Functional Gravitational Energy

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the gravitational field described in general relativity possesses genuine stress energy, in a weak sense applicable in a certain class of special cases of stress energy.

On the nature of spin, inertia and gravity of a moving canonical particle

TL;DR: In this article, it is suggested that a moving canonical particle interacts with a vacuum regarded as a "soft" cellular space and the interaction results into the emergence of elementary excitations of space "inertons" surrounding the particle.

Generalized observers and velocity measurements in general relativity

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the use of generalized observer sets, give a prescription for defining the speed of test particles relative to these observers, and show that, for any locally inertial frame, a freely falling material particle is always less than the speed at the Schwarzschild black hole surface.
