Stable isotopes and diet in complex hunter-gatherers of Paraná River Basin, South America
TL;DR: In this paper, isotopic analyses carried out on human bone samples corresponding to complex hunter-gatherers from the Parana River basin in northeastern Argentina have been conducted to characterize the dietary patterns of 23 individuals recovered from pre-Hispanic archaeological sites of the Late Holocene.

La agricultura prehispánica en el nordeste argentino analizada a través de los isótopos estables
TL;DR: The results show a moderate consumption of maize in the individuals recovered in the Itarare-Taquara sites of the province of Misiones, as well as in the samples from the Guarani sites ofthe latter province and of Buenos Aires, while among complex hunter-gatherers of the middle and lower the Parana River, maize was not detected at the population level, while the consumption of C3 plants was highly variable.
