TLDR
In this paper, the authors define addiction as an etat d’esclavage, i.e., an ego-addiction that refers to a set of qualites benefiques of a society, e.g., the illusion of retrouver le paradis perdu de d'enfance.
Abstract
Si, etymologiquement, l’addiction se refere a un etat d’esclavage, telle n’est pas la visee du sujet esclave de son objet : l’objet d’addiction est au contraire investi de qualites benefiques. L’economie addictive vise la decharge rapide de toute tension psychique, interne ou externe – angoisses nevrotiques, angoisses psychotiques, angoisses de fragmentation ou etat depressif. Cette dependance est donc l’illusion de retrouver le paradis perdu de d’enfance.
