TL;DR: The preliminary exposition and results of a feasibility project for an Observatory of Consumption of Infantile Television that contributes with indexes of evolutionary impact (developmental ratings) of diverse contents, taking part in the television diet of Spanish children are presented.
Abstract: This paper presents the preliminary exposition and results of a feasibility project for an Observatory of Consumption of Infantile Television that contributes with indexes of evolutionary impact (developmental ratings) of diverse contents, taking part in the television diet of Spanish children. The model of analysis has developed indicators about 7 evolutionary dimensions relative to the imagery representation and to the orientation in the symbolic reality. This model has been applied in a pilot stage to a limited but significant sample (the 10 and the 30 most seen programs by 4, 7, and 12-year-old Spanish children), as well as to the most seen advertising. The provisional results allow us to establish certain features of the situation of the audio-visual diet and the orientation of the imagery representation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of television commercials on the consumption of food products advertised in 2010 was analyzed, and a positive relationship was detected statistically between attachment to television advertisements and the consumption by the pupils of advertised foods which are rich in sodium, calcium, sugar and calories.
Abstract: The significant shortcomings detected in the nutrition of students in the district of Huanuco (Peru), together with the television advertising observed for products of dubious nutritional value, led us to design and conduct a research project intended to analyse the relationship between the two: The influence of television commercials on the consumption of food products advertised in 2010, which is summarised in this article. In the study we carried out a correlative study of a sample of 120 pupils at different educational establishments. They answered questionnaires, were interviewed and underwent physical examination. We also analysed the food commercials broadcast by television channels and the nutritional value of the products. Chisquare inferential analysis was used. The research showed that the pupils' health has been adversely affected, with a serious incidence of tooth decay, a problem attributed to the consumption of certain foodstuffs. The study detected a positive relationship, which was highly significant statistically, between attachment to television advertisements and the consumption by the pupils of advertised foods which are rich in sodium, calcium, sugar and calories. Also demonstrated was the interdependence between exposure to television advertising and the consumption of foods with a high fat content, which should be monitored and controlled by government officials.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present some aspects of a study of the content of music magazines, which aims at understanding the magazines' approach to music and what they relation with it.
Abstract: This article presents some aspects of a study of the content of music magazines. It aims at understanding the magazines’ approach to music and what they relation with it. The qualitative methodology is based on symbolic interactionism. The results show that these magazines talk about singers and songs, little about music, and very much about the magazine itself. They evidence a strong emotional charge, limited interest in individual creation, and little criticism. The study can make some music contexts more visible as curriculum sources, to help finding answers from music education into these high-impact imaginary.

TL;DR: In this paper, a monographic summary refers to the relationship that exists between food and health, and the symbolic dimension that this generates; with clear examples of how diabetes has been increasing in various sectors of the world.
Abstract: This monographic summary refers to the relationship that exists between food and health, and the symbolic dimension that this generates; with clear examples of how diabetes has been increasing in various sectors of the world. It shows how fast food joints to some degree end up being guilty of this, but in conjunction with the consumer's preference for highly processed food. The thesis of the paper is tried to prove by testing with empirical, historical and documentary information worked for different dimensions and scales, which seeks to give examples of this symbolic dimension.
