TLDR
A magnetorheological material containing a carrier fluid and an iron alloy particle component can be either an iron-cobalt alloy or an IR-nickel alloy as mentioned in this paper, and the particle component is capable of imparting high yield stress capability.Abstract:
A magnetorheological material containing a carrier fluid and an iron alloy particle component. The particle component can be either an iron-cobalt alloy or an iron-nickel alloy. The iron-cobalt alloy has an iron:cobalt ratio ranging from about 30:70 to 95:5 while the iron-nickel alloy has an iron:nickel ratio ranging from about 90:10 to 99:1. The iron alloy particle components are capable of imparting high yield stress capability to magnetorheological materials.read more

An experimental study of MR dampers for seismic protection
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of magnetorheological dampers for seismic response reduction is examined and the results indicate that the MR damper is quite effective for structural response reduction over a wide class of seismic excitations.

Performance of isotropic magnetorheological rubber materials
Mattias Lokander,Bengt Stenberg +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that MR rubber materials with large irregular particles have a large MR effect although the particles are not aligned within the material, which is explained by the low critical particle volume concentration of such particles.

Rheological properties of magnetorheological fluids
Seval Genc,Pradeep P. Phulé +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of dispersed phase saturation magnetization and applied magnetic fields on the rheological properties of magnetorheological (MR) fluids are described, and the results show that the decrease in yield stress for finer particle based MR fluids is due to the relatively smaller magnetization of the finer particles.

Systems and methods for processing limb motion
TL;DR: In this article, control systems and methods are disclosed for processing a time series of signals associated with the movement of a device associated with a limb. But the acceleration measurements may relate to the motion of an artificial limb, such as a prosthetic or orthotic device.
