Abstract
Disclosed are a mandibular arch expander and an orthodontics method. The mandibular arch expander comprises: a pair of divided expander bodies disposed at the center of the upper mandibular arch or the lower mandibular arch of an orthodontics treatment target, and opened or closed in left and right directions; a main expansion unit for connecting the pair of expander bodies and adjusting the horizontal length of the pair of expander bodies; a pressing arm, of which one end portions are respectively fixed to the pair of expander bodies and the other end portions respectively extend toward teeth at both sides so as to face the teeth, pressing the teeth at both sides of the mandibular arch while being opened together with the expander bodies by the main expansion unit; and an auxiliary expansion member of which one end portion is fixed to each of the pair of expander bodies and the other end portion respectively extends toward a front tooth portion of the mandibular arch and faces the inner surface of the front tooth portion so as to provide stress spreading toward the front side of the front teeth.
