TLDR
In this paper, a method for determining the presence of suprathreshold amounts of aspartate aminotransferase in an oral fluid sample by incubating with an indicator substance in a second reaction mixture was proposed.Abstract:
Improvements in methods for determining the presence of suprathreshold amounts of aspartate aminotransferase in an oral fluid sample by (1) incubation of aspartate aminotransferase substrate materials in a first reaction mixture with the sample to form a first reaction product and (2) detection of reaction product therein by incubation with an indicator substance in a second reaction mixture wherein a second colored reaction product is formed. The improvement comprises (a) utilizing a diazonium dyestuff as the indicator substance in the second reaction and (b) modifying reaction conditions within the first and second reaction mixtures such that no visually detectable colored reaction product will be formed in the second reaction mixture by subthreshold level of aspartate aminotransferase but wherein a visually detectable color reaction product will be formed in the reaction mixture when a selected suprathreshold concentration of aspartate aminotransferase is present in the first reaction mixture.read more

Method for diagnosis of periodontal disease by detection of alanine aminotransferase
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present methods for determining the presence of periodontal disease in mammals, including the steps of sampling gingival crevicular fluid, assaying the sample by colorimetric or other means to determine levels of alanine aminotransferase present, and correlating the levels of ALanine AMT in the sample with a standard which is indicative of the presence this paper.

Integral element for analysis of liquids
TL;DR: In this paper, a multilayer element for the analysis of liquids such as biochemical and biological liquids is proposed, which includes a reagent layer including a composition that is interactive in the presence of a predetermined substance to be analyzed (analyte) to provide a diffusible, detectable species, and a registration layer that is permeable to the detectable species and within which such species, e.g., a dye, can be detected.
