TLDR
In this paper, a compound represented by the following general formula (1) is converted into (A) R-COOH (wherein R is an aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms having no halogen atom or a carbon number having no non-halogen atom).
Abstract
Provided is a method for producing an epoxy compound from an olefin which is simple, has a high reaction rate, is excellent in production efficiency, and has a high yield. A compound represented by the following general formula (1) is converted into (A) R-COOH (wherein R is an aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms having no halogen atom or a carbon number having no halogen atom). 1 to 20 represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group), (B) hydrogen peroxide, and (C) an acid selected from the following (c1) to (c5): (C1) an acid containing phosphorus, (c2) an organic carboxylic acid having 1 to 20 carbon atoms containing halogen, (c3) R—SO 3 H (wherein R is a hydrogen atom or A hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which may be substituted with a halogen atom.), (C4) an inorganic acid containing tungsten, and (c5) an inorganic acid containing molybdenum. Vinyl terminated higher olefin polymers and methods to produce thereof

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors defined a class of higher olefin copolymers having an Mn of 300 g/mol or more (measured by 1 H NMR) and showed that the copolymer may also have an isobutyl chain end to allyl-chain end ratio of less than 0.7:1 and/or an allyl chain-end to vinylidene chain end ratio greater than 2:1.
