Misconceptions on geometric optics and their association with relevant educational variables

TL;DR: In this paper, a pre-test was conducted to diagnose the preconceptions of 44 trainee teachers in geometrical optics and the results suggest that both students' level of cognitive development and their pre-knowledge should be taken into account in developing an integrating paradigm for science teaching.

Analogical Reasoning in Restructuring Scientific Knowledge.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated analogical reasoning in knowledge acquisition in a natural school setting and evaluated the efficiency of analogy in the conceptual restructuring of a science topic and compared the effects of analogies in different learning conditions.

Curriculum Reformulation: Incorporating Technology into Science Instruction.

TL;DR: A fourto ten-fold increase in student learning was achieved as a result of reformulations based on cognitive research and the results showed that some suggestions from research offer promise for use in realistic settings and that other suggestions such as "offer multiple representations" are incomplete or incomplete when applied in realism settings.
