Line-of-Sight Interceptor Guidance for Defending an Aircraft
Ashwini Ratnoo,Tal Shima +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors defined the following components of an evasive maneuver component normal to the target-missile line of sight: amp, ad, am, target, defender, and missile lateral accelerations, respectively at max, ad max, am max, max, and am max = target, defenders, and missiles maximum lateral acceleration.

The proportional navigation dilemma-pure or true?
U.S. Shukla,P.R. Mahapatra +1 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that PPN is a better guidance law in a practical sense than TPN and its generalizations.

Performance analysis of PNG laws for randomly maneuvering targets
TL;DR: In this article, the performance of the conventional proportional navigation guidance (PNG) law for a randomly maneuvering target is considered, and the Lyapunov method is proved that an ideal missile guided by the conventional PNG law can always intercept a target which maneuvers with time-varying normal acceleration provided that the navigation constant is sufficiently large.

Analytical Solution of Three-Dimensional Realistic True Proportional Navigation
TL;DR: This work aims to derive the complete solutions of three-dimensional realistic true proportional navigation for nonmaneuvering and maneuvering targets with varying closing speed by solving three coupled nonlinear second-order state equations describing the relative motion.
Journal ArticleDOI
True proportional navigation with maneuvering target
TL;DR: Analytically obtain the capture regions for the true proportional navigation (TPN) missile guidance law against an intelligently maneuvering target and a comparative study of capturability of TPN laws is presented.

A qualitative study of proportional navigation
TL;DR: In this article, the trajectories of an ideal missile homing on a target according to the proportional navigation law were analyzed and conditions were determined which enable one to demonstrate that the missile always reaches the target regardless of the initial conditions at launch; the rotational rate of the line of sight is decreasing at the pursuit end.

Proportional Navigation with a Maneuvering Target
TL;DR: A qualitative analysis of the trajectories of a missile pursuing a maneuvering target according to the proportional navigation law is presented in this article, where conditions for a missile to reach the target from any initial state are determined.
