Abstract
Stable isothermal multiplicities were observed during carbon monoxide oxidation in an integral reactor, filled with alumina supported platinum catalysts. The multiplicities were investigated in the conversion-temperature, conversion-inlet carbon monoxide concentration and conversion-mass flow rate domains. The region of multiplicities was found to widen significantly upon catalyst aging which enhanced the pellets' diffusive resistances. Several intermediate stable steady states were found between the highest and lowest steady states, both experimentally and theoretically. All the above phenomena could be well interpreted by the interactions of the kinetics of carbon monoxide oxidation with intrapellet diffusion resistances.

Origin of the Normal and Inverse Hysteresis Behavior during CO Oxidation over Pt/Al2O3

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the Pt particle size and size distribution on CO oxidation light-off on Pt/Al2O3 catalysts was systematically investigated by the application of conventional and advanced preparation methods, such as flame spray pyrolysis and supercritical fluid reactive deposition, and a series of catalysts containing homogeneous distributions of Pt particles were obtained.

Infrared spectral studies of reactions of carbon monoxide and oxygen on PtSiO2

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the second-order dependence on CO coverage and showed that the peak frequency of the residual CO molecules remained almost constant indicating the maintenance of high local CO coverage throughout the course of reaction.

Spurious limit cycles and related phenomena during CO oxidation on supported platinum

TL;DR: In this paper, a study of CO oxidation on a Ptα-Al2O3 catalyst was carried out in the temperature range 370 to 420 °K, in oxygen, and the authors focused specifically on isothermal limit-cycle phenomena in this reaction.

Inverse Hysteresis Phenomena During CO and C3H6 Oxidation over a Pt/Al2O3 Catalyst

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated CO oxidation hysteresis behavior, when in a mixture with C3H6, and found that CO oxidation followed normal hystresis behaviour; however, when added to the mixture, the catalytic activity during the extinction phase decreased.
