- 01 Feb 1995 -
- Vol. 75, Iss: 2, pp 127-132
TLDR
The observations suggest that in a common physical environment, the local organization of a community is conditioned by mutual architectural adjustment of neighbouring species.

Spatial arrangement of branches in relation to slope and neighbourhood competition.

TL;DR: The results suggest that horizontal extension of C. crenata branches is more prone to spatial invasion by nearby neighbouring branches of heterospecifics, and that the invasion can be lessened when C.crenata trees are spatially aggregated.

Patterns of plant species diversity across Terai landscape in north-eastern Uttar Pradesh, India.

R. P. Shukla, +1 more
- 01 Jan 2009 -
TL;DR: The north-eastern Uttar Pradesh forms a part of Terai landscape in north India which is drained by two important tributaries of river Ganga viz., Rapti and Gandak and the composition and diversity of various grassland communities have been compared with respect to topography and canopy openings reflecting different light regimes.

Crown Spread Patterns for Five Deciduous Broad-leaved Woody Species: Ecological Significance of the Retention Patterns of Larger Branches

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared two shade-intolerant species (Betula platyphylla and B. maximowicziana) with three more tolerant species (Quercus mongolica,Acer sieboldianum, andMagnolia obovata).

Population structure and sex-ratio of Mallotus philippensis Muel. Arg. within forest vegetation of north-eastern U.P., India

S. D. Pathak, +1 more
- 01 Jan 2004 -
TL;DR: The sex-ratio of Mallotus philippensis was always male-biased under low light and female- biased under high light re- gime irrespective of the kind of overstorey dominance, and has been discussed in the light of ecological significance of sex-Ratio and the species within forest vegetation of the region.

The regeneration pattern and population structure of Boerhaavia diffusa L. in relation to disturbance in grasslands of north-eastern U.P.

TL;DR: The regeneration strategy and the pattern of regrowth of the species after different degree of disturbance are referred to and the architecture of B. diffusa conforms to Champgnat's model of architecture.

Architecture and growth strategies of tropical trees in relation to successional status.

TL;DR: In the early-succession species the production and the contribution of first order branches to the total branch system was much higher than in the late-successional species, which had plasticity in the orientation and overall display of their branches in relation to irradiance.
