Optimized design of steel frame structure using a genetic algorithm

Abstract: Genetic algorithm is a new intelligence optimization algorithm developed from biology at the beginning of the year 1970.The method used in the design of the steel structures not only changed the traditional opinion of design, but also enriched the optimization algorithms of the steel structures.The optimization models of the steel frame with the object functions of minimization weights of the beams and the columns are put forward. The selection, crossover, mutation algorithm of genetic algorithm and parameter coded in binary genes are set up. The structure optimized design program in C is debugged and applied to analyze the steel frame.
