TL;DR: In this paper, a vertical arrangement of air-cooled condensers is proposed on the basis of a 2 × 600 MW direct dry cooling power plant, which can weaken the adverse wind effects and utilize the wind power to improve the cooling capacity of aircooled Condensers.

Influences of wind-break wall configurations upon flow and heat transfer characteristics of air-cooled condensers in a power plant

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of wind-break wall configurations on the thermo-flow performances of air-cooled condensers were investigated in a 2 × 600 MW direct dry cooling power plant.

Performance prediction of an improved air-cooled steam condenser with deflector under strong wind

TL;DR: In this article, a new method is proposed to remove the strong wind effect by adding deflecting plates under the air-cooled platform, which contributes to forming a uniform air mass flow rate in the axial fans by leading enough cooling air to the fans in the upwind region.

Effect of inlet flow distortions on fan performance in forced draught air-cooled heat exchangers

TL;DR: In this paper, the reduction of the air flow rate through ACHE models having different numbers of fan rows is investigated experimentally and the results are correlated by an empirical relation which can be applied to the design of ACHEs.

Numerical investigation of the effect of inlet flow distortions on forced draught air-cooled heat exchanger performance

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical resolution of flow fields associated with systems comprising a single and two banks of ACHEs is presented. But the numerical models used accurately reflect the experimentally determined differences in inlet flow losses experienced by systems using either bellmouth, conical or cylindrical fan inlet sections.
