In this paper, a pole-amplitude modulation (P.A.M) three-phase, pole-number changing machine having star-connected and delta-connected stator winding components was proposed.
Abstract
A pole-amplitude modulation (P.A.M.) three-phase, pole-number changing machine having star-connected and delta-connected stator winding components, thereby providing additional means for reducing m.m.f. harmonics in the resultant three-phase field. Pole-number changing is effected by reversing the star-connected winding component relatively to the delta-connected component. A design method defines relationships between alternative pole-numbers and stator slot number, and slot-spacing between star- and delta-connected components.

Three-phase armature winding

TL;DR: In this paper, a three-phase armature winding of the concentrically wound double-layer type is described, in which the coil ends of three phases are distributed on an outermost circumference and coil ends on inner circumferences in turn in a first arrangement.

Compact three-phase permanent magnet rotary machine having low vibration and high performance

TL;DR: In this article, a three-phase permanent magnet rotary machine with minimal reluctance torque and electromagnetic torque ripple, and maximum energy efficiency and starting torque per unit volume of winding, comprises an armature having 3(2n+1) ferromagnetic poles and slots, where n is an integer of 1 or more.

Method and apparatus for improving performance of AC machines

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for improving the performance of polyphase AC machines is presented, where the fundamental flux wave and the harmonic flux wave will travel at synchronous speed in the air gap.

Polyphase direct current motor

TL;DR: In this paper, a three-phase direct-current motor has a field magnet having P field poles positioned as a circular array at angularly equally spaced intervals, and an armature having cores providing N slots with three phase coils disposed therein, either the field magnet or the armature being rotatable with respect to the other.

Three-phase, one-third pitch motor

TL;DR: In this paper, a three-phase motor stator with six salient teeth and twelve salient teeth for a four-pole motor is described. Butterworth et al. showed that the first and second coils are wound in series without breaking the conductor, and this provides a method of economically manufacturing a small three phase motor.

Changeable pole three phase winding

TL;DR: In this paper, a pole changeable three phase winding with nine base winding branches and only six connecting points with a simple, symmetrical, low harmonic content winding is presented. But the number of poles in the ratio p 1 : p 2 = 3m : 2n is not known.
