Production of synthesis gas
TLDR
In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of different levels of soot production and STEAM/FUEL RATIO on CH4 concentration in OXIDATION GAS GENERATOR.Abstract:
PRODUCING SYNTHESIS GAS OR FUEL GAS WHEREIN THE FEEDSTOCK FOR A PARTIAL OXIDATION GAS GENERATOR COMPRISES A MIXTURE OF CARBONIFEROUS FUEL AND FROM ABOUT 1 TO 80 WT. PERCENT OF AN OXYGENATED HYDROCARBONACEOUS ORGANIC MATERIAL WHICH SUPPLIES THE FEEDSTOCK WITH A MINIMUM OF 0.5 WT. PERCENT OF COMBINED OXYGEN, AND THE PRODUCT GAS COMPRISES PRINCIPALLY CO AND H2 TOGETHER WITH MINOR AMOUNTS OF H2O, CO2, CH4, AND UNCONVERTED CARBON. BY REACTING ISOBUTYRALDEHYDE OR MOLASSES WITH HEAVY FUEL OIL OR VACUUM RESIDUUM THE CONCENTRATION OF CH4 IN THE PRODUCT GAS MAY BE INCREASED WHILE THE FREE OXYGEN CONSUMPTION AND THE REACTION TEMPERATURE AT A GIVEN LEVEL OF SOOT PRODUCTION AND STEAM/FUEL RATIO IS DECREASED.read more

Gas turbine process utilizing purified fuel gas
TL;DR: In this paper, the CO2-rich stream is used either as a portion of the temperature moderator in the gas generator or in a non-catalytic, thermal, reverse water-gas shift reaction with hydrogen in the process fuel gas stream to increase the CO/H2.

Partial oxidation process and burner with porous tip
TL;DR: In this paper, a flat annular-shaped disc or cup-shaped porous ceramic or porous metal cooling means of uniform composition, wall thickness and porosity with the various pores interconnecting is attached to the downstream tip of the burner.

Fuel burner and process for gas manufacture
Charles P. Marion,Blake Reynolds +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a multitube burner and process for the manufacture of synthesis gas, reducing gas and other gas mixtures substantially comprising H2 and CO is described. But the process is not described.
Patent
Gasification of low quality solid fuels
TL;DR: In this article, low quality solid fuels are gasified by being fed to a gasifier in a concentrated water slurry, the high solids content of the slurry being possible by subjecting the solid fuel to hydrothermal treatment in the product gas quench zone.

Partial oxidation of sulfur-containing solid carbonaceous fuel
TL;DR: In this paper, a process for simultaneous partial oxidation and desulfurization of sulfur and silicate-containing solid carbonaceous fuel for the production of gaseous mixtures comprising H 2 and CO and containing less than about 0.05 volume % of H 2 S and COS is presented.
