A generalized method for the stationary probabilistic response of nonlinear dynamical system

TL;DR: In this article , the exponential-polynomial-closure (EPC) method is further generalized and explicitly includes this information in the response probability density function (PDF) approximation, and the unknown coefficients in the EPC approximate solution are generalized to be functions of the system and excitation parameters.

How can vibrations be mitigated to prevent structural fatigue, noise pollution, and failure of sensitive equipment?

The provided paper discusses the problem of reducing vibrations in structures caused by traffic. It proposes a model of a structure and absorber system to analyze the effect of absorbers on vibrations. However, it does not specifically address structural fatigue, noise pollution, or failure of sensitive equipment.
