Abstract
Any experiment in which one or more of the experimental units is used more than once is called a repeated measurements experiment. The associated design of a repeated measurements experiment is referred to as a repeated measurements design. This review covers some known results on repeated measurements designs. Emphasis is placed on the impact of optimal design theory. Some construction methods for these designs are presented. Hedayat and Afsarinejad (1975) has an extensive bibliography of earlier literature. A bibliography of these designs published after 1974 is provided at the end of this paper.

Design and Analysis of Cross-Over Trials

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide an overview of recent developments in the design and analysis of cross-over trials and present methods for testing for a treatment difference when the data are binary.

Designing consumer trials balanced for first and higher orders of carry-over effect when only a subset of k samples from t may be tested

TL;DR: In this article, the problem of balancing carryover effects of preceding samples in consumer trials when each consumer only receives k out of a possible t products is discussed, and general methods are described that give routes to designs with higher numbers of samples.

3 Optimal crossover designs

TL;DR: This chapter focuses on optimal crossover designs, which are to use a number of available units for several measurements at different occasions to achieve the same precision as inferences based on within subject information.

Modelling and optimality in the design of crossover studies for medical applications

TL;DR: The suitability of this model for use in medical applications is reviewed in this paper, with particular emphasis on its implications for design theory, and the optimal designs for two treatments under an amended model are presented.

Circular Strongly Balanced Repeated Measurements Designs

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the construction of strongly balanced repeated measurements designs using the newly proposed method called cyclic shifts, and proposed some new designs for p < v and p ≥ v.

Experimental Designs Balanced for the Estimation of Residual Effects of Treatments

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a method for estimating the residual effect of previous treatments on the result obtained for any given treatment, and a method of constructing balanced designs for the estimation of these residual effects.
