Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of the distribution of light, optical properties, drug concentration, and tissue oxygenation in-vivo in human prostate during motexafin lutetium-mediated photodynamic therapy.
TL;DR: Significant inter- and intra-prostatic variations in the tissue optical properties and MLu drug distribution are shown, suggesting that a real-time dosimetry measurement and feedback system for monitoring these values during treatment should be considered in future PDT studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prostate PDT dosimetry
Timothy C. Zhu,Jarod C. Finlay +1 more
TL;DR: A review of the current state of dosimetry in prostate photodynamic therapy (PDT) and techniques have been developed to characterize tissue optical properties and light fluence rates in vivo using interstitial measurements during prostate PDT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Timing medical examinations via intensity functions
TL;DR: A decision theoretic method for timing medical examinations motivated by screening asymptomatic individuals for hidden disease or risk-increasing conditions and modelled as a space of functions, termed screening intensity functions is studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
An Effective Method for Online Disease Risk Monitoring
Lu You,Peihua Qiu +1 more
TL;DR: A novel and effective new method for DEDAP, where a patient’s risk to the disease is first quantified at each time point, and then the longitudinal pattern of the risk is monitored sequentially over time, works well in practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevention of cardiovascular disease
TL;DR: A strategy for screening and evaluation of the population that should accomplishmeaningful prevention of cardiovascular disease to age 90 or 100 free of morbid events is presented with potential benefits on both cost and cardiovascular health.
