Role of Complement System in Kidney Transplantation: Stepping From Animal Models to Clinical Application
Ruochen Qi,Weijun Qin +1 more
TL;DR: The updated understanding of the complement system in kidney transplantation is provided and the existing and upcoming attempts to improve allograft outcomes in animal models and in the clinical setting by targeting the complement System are introduced.

Leucocyte antigens in renal transplantation: 9. Matching for the HL-A system and the early course of cadaveric renal grafts.
Peter J. Morris,Alan Ting +1 more
TL;DR: The donors and recipients of 62 cadaveric renal transplants performed in five units have been typed both prospectively and retrospectively for nine antigens of the HL‐A leucocyte antigen system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transplanting the sensitized patient
R. John Crew,Lloyd E. Ratner +1 more
TL;DR: Considerable progress has been made in identifying mechanisms that lead to allograft rejection in sensitized recipients and results from the immunosuppressive protocols developed to facilitate transplantation in these recipients have been encouraging.
Journal ArticleDOI
The clinical relevance of alloantibody in liver transplantation
TL;DR: Consensus opinion regarding antibody and the liver might emerge with better standardization of antibody measurement and pathological definition of AMR, which remain ill-defined and non-uniform.

Serotyping for homotransplantation. X. Survival of 196 grafted kidneys subsequent to typing.
TL;DR: It is concluded that although survival in this series is associated with matching in marginal limits, many hazards which influence survival especially in the early 3 month period may be making it difficult to demonstrate the association.

Comparative results of cadaver and related donor renal homografts in man, and immunologic implications of the outcome of second and paired transplants.

Serotyping for homotransplantation. 23. Analysis of kidney transplants from parental versus sibling donors.
TL;DR: If the HL-A locus is to be considered the principal histocompatibility locus in man, it is clear that with kidney transplantation utilizing current immunosuppressive therapy an incompatibility for a single allele having any of the five antigens studied is not invariably deleterious.

Serotyping for homotransplantation. V. Evaluation of a matching scheme.
PaulI. Terasaki,Donna L. Vredevoe,K. A. Porter,Max R. Mickey,T. L. Marchioro,Tanous D. Faris,T J Herrmann,Thomas E. Starzl +7 more
TL;DR: It was shown that 52 dialyzed uremic patients and 49 patients who had been treated with immunosuppression for over 1 year did not possess more or less antigens than a random population of normal individuals.
