Determinants of the number of catholic priests to catholics in Europe-an economic explanation

TL;DR: In this paper, a new approach was taken to study the significant factors that determined the number of Catholic priests in Europe between 1950 and 2006. And they found that there is a quadratic relation between number of Catholics per Catholic population and real income per capita, which is related to the historical role of Catholicism in the country.
