Abstract

Distributed continuous range query processing on moving objects

TL;DR: In this paper, a distributed server infrastructure is introduced to partition the entire service region into a set of service zones and cooperatively handle requests of continuous range queries, which improves the robustness and flexibility of the system by adapting to a time-varying set of servers.

Distributed continuous range query processing on moving objects

TL;DR: A novel query indexing structure, which records the difference of the query distribution on a grid model is proposed, which significantly reduce the size and complexity of the index so that in-memory indexing can be achieved on mobile objects with constrained memory size.

Processing location dependent continuous queries in distributed mobile databases using mobile agents

TL;DR: This paper presents a system that supports distributed processing of location-dependent continuous queries on distributed mobile data in a mobile environment using mobile agents and proposes a shared incremental update mechanism, which caches the results of the previously evaluated queries and avoids redundant results thereby minimizing the data traffic in wireless environment.

A Cluster-Based TMO-Structured Scalable Approach for Location Information Systems

TL;DR: GALIS (Gracefully Aging Location Information System) as mentioned in this paper is based on the new approach of using a cluster of database server nodes and effecting efficient distributed and parallel computing in both real-time update of location records of moving items and processing of location-related queries.
